v236 Deer disappeared after shooting with a bow

I'll post my debug log when I'm home - last night I was hunting with the bow and arrow at the Pleasant Valley farmstead. I hit a deer, the deer let out a groan, twitched back and forth, then disappeared. I walked up to where the deer was when I hit it and could hear the sound effect of a deer running. The sound effect was coming from a fixed location, as I walked all over the general area and it would get quieter and louder in each channel of my speakers depending on where I was.

I gave up, slept, then two days later, found a dead deer close to the main entrance of the farm with no arrow in it. Based on the condition of the meat, it had to have been the same deer.
