Fire UI Perspective change also changes position

I tend to stay outdoors a bit in this game. Here's one I just ran into:

I had a fire going during a blizzard and both me and the fire were out of the wind. However, when I clicked on the fire to thaw some snow, the perspective shift actually put my character into the wind and I got colder and started freezing as I began thawing snow. Exiting the UI I got warmer. Tried it a few times, the perspective change definitely changes the "effective" position of the character.
