AmericanSteel
Can the devs add a tire iron to the game? It would be like a mix of a prybar and an axe. Players could use it to fend off Fluffy (make them less than a pry bar because they are unwieldy), could punch though the ice or pry open secure containers. To balance them out make them heavier than the pry bar or axe, you can't use them to butcher frozen animals or assist in foraging for wood. Let them spawn inside trunks or at the gas station. exeexe
oh here i thought you would suggest an idea that could extract tires from cars and put them on fire.
Bill Tarling
In earliest versions, there was a crowbar instead of a prybar. It was switched because players complained that a crowbar should never degrade and should have permanent 100% use throughout the game (i.e. the crowbar would have made the game a bit too hand holding easy if it never degraded and would have been counterproductive to the resource management approach for gameplay).By switching the item for a prybar (which is much lighter, thinner, and not as durable), the devs were able to balance the use out much better, and players understood it wasn't meant to last in perfect condition forever. So it represents the same sort of function, but just without the weird feeling wondering how a locker could destroy an indestructible crowbar.Personally I think the switch was a good choice, and players seemed to have been (for the most part) more accepting of the degradation of the tool (which, in turn, fits better with the supply searching and management better for in game survival play).
