Wolf caught inside a rock?

v227 (Windows 8.1), ML map - at 1630.3, 60.4, 738.8 (near Alan's Cave) I hear a wolf barking and growling, but cannot see it. Could it be stuck inside a rock or somewhere inside the graphics where I cannot see it and it cannot reach me?

Encountered a deer http://www.hinterlandforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=4852&p=29051 stuck in a wall before, according to its sound (That was before the duck-next-to-a-wall-then-stand-up-to-glitch-into-the-wall-fix was applied). That was a few versions ago thou. If you throw meat right on top of where you presume it to be, will it stop howling and start eating the meat? (There is now a Y-axis check for jumping a played on wolves, but no Y-axis check for eating.... should probably be added for all their axes )
