Hello Community,

We have just released our v2.39 (149246) Hotfix for THE LONG DARK (including Survival Edition), TALES FROM THE FAR TERRITORY. This addresses one major issue.


GENERAL

*Fixed an issue that caused an "Attempt to Save game FAILED..." error and returned players to the main menu when they attempted to leave an interior during an Aurora.

No it was deleted because it was disrespectful and full of swear words..  there are rules which you either didn't read or chose to ignore.

Despite my repeated efforts to report the issue, it remains unresolved as of November 2024. To provide additional clarity and help the developers identify the root cause, I even went so far as to upload save game files to this forum. However, to my disappointment, not only was my report ignored, but a moderator also deleted the backup files I had painstakingly prepared, offering no explanation or acknowledgment for their removal.

This situation highlights a growing trend in the gaming industry where players are seemingly treated as unpaid beta testers. We are expected to invest significant time and effort into identifying and reporting issues, often with the hope of improving the game for everyone. Yet, this contribution is frequently met with a lack of engagement, leaving reported problems unaddressed and players feeling disregarded. It’s a disheartening experience that raises questions about how seriously such feedback is taken... but who cares?

Both myself and player support replied to your thread concerning this.and I did apologise to you for deleting the save file on there..

Player support also asked you to contact them so they could help you.

Ideally, you would have uploaded your save file to the support ticket you created.

If you have not already, please consider submitting a support ticket.
Even if it's a known issue, Hinterland would still have even more sources of information and troubleshooting (such as requesting copies of afflicted save files and such).  This also gives us a way that we can know for sure that Hinterland is aware, can make a determination, request follow up information or clarifying questions, can track the issue, and add it to their list of things get worked out.

All sides of a discussion are welcome, provided the discourse remains civil and respectful.
Hurling insults or profanities at the Hinterland team or other members of this community, is just not civil and respectful discourse.

So, yes, when folks do not abide the forum rules & guidelines those posts may be removed.

I already took the necessary steps and reported the issue; however, although my ticket was closed, the bug remains unresolved in the game.

The game feels reminiscent of the vietnam war era—one wrong step, and you're gone...

Though I think it would have been better if you had chosen away to do that without trying to imply unfounded and highly speculative accusations.

The PS4 Version still crashes consistently upon loading PV for the third time. I live in the farmstead, so just moving around throughout the day may cause 2-3 crashes. Day or night doesnt seem to matter, Please help. Thank You

I'm sorry you're having this issue. Please file a report with support at the top of the page..giving as much information as you can.

I wanna say thanks to the team for coming in clutch with this fix. This has been the only bad bug I've ever encountered with this game and @Player_Support was on it like ninjas. Thanks, you fine people! Now go enjoy your holiday break! 👍

I posted a report about this hole in ZoC December 2023. Haven't been back there since to check but does not look encouraging.

Dear Hinterland team,
Thank you for all the work you have done this year to give us players such a great gaming experience. The last update turned out so well that I haven't played anything other than "The Long Dark" for two weeks and I haven't even found everything yet.
But now it's time to stop working. Turn off your computers and take a well-deserved vacation. See you in the new year.

Yes thank you so much for moddin, just got into the forums after playing for a long time and trying to talk cool stuff about the game on reddit (yeah..) and there's just so much toxicity and not enough positive conversation about a game we all love.

Ever since leaving that and coming here I've felt as a part of the community more than ever, and to know it's inclusive of all people is a big win for reasons.
