manolitode Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Any advice for someone who hasn't played much of the Far territories expansion and plan to head out to the new regions without suffering a so called silly death? I want all the challenges and surprises but not the unintended kills. Thus I'm not much looking for advice such as "avoid the bear there around the corner" or "the weather is extra shitty there". Rather, can you for instance recall any: - easily reachable insta death-spots? - bears teleporting to your face? - other death-bugs? And no, I'm not going to scavenge 2 years of bug reports 1
SafeAgain Posted November 22 Posted November 22 The rest of this post contains spoilers for the far territory Spoiler Here's some unexpected things to keep in mind: The wolves in zone of contamination are not reliably scared off by torches, you will get mauled if you rely on them Don't goat in high places, you WILL get stuck somewhere 100 meters above the ground and you'll die on the way down. (happened to me twice) Glimmer fog can set in instantly, turning a sunny day with excellent visibility into zero visibility within 2 minutes or so, prepare for this Wind can still exist during glimmer fog, don't trust your campfire to stay lit if it's not protected from the wind Watch your step in the cave system, because falling below the path in the dark is an instant kill That's all the weird or unexpected mechanics i can think of that aren't "This region is really cold" or "You will need to travel during auroras, bring a flashlight" I don't think far territory has any insta-death issues overall. 3
manolitode Posted November 22 Author Posted November 22 Thank you, that's very helpful Especially the last item, seems like an uncalled-for way to expire. Think I'll send in one of the less seasoned Wills to begin with, for safety. No insta-deaths sounds lovely.
