Today we launch the new Hinterland brand

Hello everyone,

Today we launch a new Hinterland brand. This new identity reflects the evolution of Hinterland as a game developer, publisher, IP creator, and entertainment company over the past 12 years. It represents our mission of Constant Exploration towards making better games, better ways of working together, better ways of engaging with our fans, and doing our part to push the industry into a better place in the future.

As we put forward our vision for Hinterland and the cross-platform experiences we’re creating for millions of fans around the world, I’d like to draw your attention to our statement of Hinterland’s mission, and my vision for where we’re headed. I talk about broken values and misplaced priorities in the games business, and what we’re trying to do about it in our own work. I talk about what we see around us, and how we’re trying to do something different. I explain a bit about our values, and how we strive to work. Mostly, I acknowledge that we don’t always get it right -- but we are constantly striving towards self-improvement in our games, and in our approach.

This new brand, anchored by a new visual direction and site at hinterland.com, opens the door to the next phase of Hinterland’s growth, and sets the table for my ambitious plans for our team, our studio, our projects, and our future within the broader entertainment industry. We have twelve years of experience as a studio behind us. The next twelve years is where the real work begins. And I can’t wait to share this journey with you.

Thanks to everyone who has been part of the Hinterland story along the way. Thanks to the Hinterland team who pour their heart into their work every day. Thanks to the fans who give us a reason to keep going. Onward, to the next adventure.

Yup, this is just the first phase. We have plenty more coming, mostly TLD-centric. This batch is more about the new brand, but we included the favourite legacy Hinterland mug in the mix.

Looks great! cant wait to see whats yet to come and hoping you guys all the success that you deserve with such a quality IP you are able to produce.  Also managed to finally order myself 2 mugs, now its just the waiting game.

Is it possible to convert about 350 Swedish kronor to Canadian dollars so I can buy a TLD mug? Are there shipping routes to Sweden?

I kinda liked the old white red fox logo but the new design is very futuristic and also somehow feels sci-fi to me. Maybe you got some sci-fi stuff cooking behind the curtain?

The new brand looks really cool.
But I have two questions:
1. Will Hinterland no longer be associated with the fox logo?
2. Can we expect a replenishment of the merch collection before the end of this year?

I hope the fox stays around somewhere,it's a piece of history 💗. Though I do like the new logo.

If you try to buy something in the store, it should convert from CAD to your local currency at the check-out.

Every change comes with a sense of nostalgia for the past. It's important to be open to the future. We aren't forgetting our legacy (the fox), but we need something new to represent the next phase. The old brand will always be part of our history, and the Hinterland story, and we will always cherish it. Now it's time to make some new memories.

Just found out that the store had been restarted.  For a start it looks okay to me.  More stuff would be great. 

The legacy mug looks tempting.

Constructive feedback: Store open is great and i don't mind the delay because of the strike. But can we have metric units on all of the products please? The cup already has these informations but the desk mat for example not

We simply posted the information provided by the manufacturer. As a Canadian, I feel your pain, and have become used to using a converter.

Yeah most people I've seen talk about this (on other platforms) are really not impressed with the new logo

People are naturally resistant to change, buuut the new logo feels like a tech startup or something.

The fox was iconic, the new one is just a futuristic looking letter H. It's ok. But not much more than that.

I am concerned about the question of whether the sales of the mug with the fox are limited, that is, can they all be sold out and will there be replenishments?

Next update I imagine..but honestly for a moment I thought you meant somewhere in great bear lol..thought I'd missed seeing it all this time..

We have 2000 in stock, and we will continue to replenish stock over time.

The new brand will appear in the game in the form of the animated logos that appear when you start, ASAP. The in-game fox mug will remain in the game.

The parts of the new kit fit well together. But especially the extra bold grotesk stretched wordmark looks like it belongs on a corporate letterhead (or in the Hitman universe that makes light of that design aesthetic), not on an exploration focused video game company.

Public Sans is a great choice especially.

Of course it's on the mug...I'd forget my own head if it wasn't firmly screwed on 😁 I was thinking of possibly posters or something I might've missed

I thought of it as a little QoL improvement. But anyway, i just placed my order for two lovely Hinterland mugs! Don't think they will arrive on time for my birthday, but that's okay
