I just want to take a moment to thank the Hinterland team and @Raphael van Lierop for supporting Linux natively out of the box.

I know this can take a lot of extra work. And yes many games can work pretty well with Proton and tweaks, but it's really REALLY nice to see that Linux/SteamOS badge on a store page and feel recognised. TLD has always been a smooth & flawless experience on my primary development & gaming PC (Ubuntu).

I know the Linux user base is tiny, causing many studios to not bother to officially support it. So from one number in that tiny stat: I say thank you. :coffee:

Glad to hear it!! It's not always easy to support it TBH so it's nice to get some positive feedback from Linux players.

Looks like about 40,000 players for us. Not a huge number, but not a small number either. Valve deserves a lot of credit here, as the Steamdeck requires Linux support to work (for SteamOS).

I want to add my thanks here for supporting the Mac. It's the only reason I ever learned about TLD.

I realize the number of Mac players may be even smaller than that for those who run a variety of Linux. It often seems that many game developers don't take Mac support very seriously. Updates tend to get released last for macOS, bugs don't get fixed and so on. Understandable of course (to a point) given the numbers. But now that I think about it, I don't recall ever seeing that coming from Hinterland. That's really impressive. Thank you! 💛

Glad to hear your experience as a Mac user has been positive. We did have some challenges with graphics during the transition to the new Apple silicon but I think we've resolved those.

Mac represents about 200,000 players for us, so about 5x the Linux audience. And we're grateful for every one!

I'm one of the 40, 000 and I am very grateful. It's one of the first things I tell people about the game "Native Linux!" 😍

Let me just add my very heartfelt thanks for the Linux version as well, and for an absolutely amazing game.

I remember seeing the Kickstarter and thinking I could not imagine a duller game idea. Definitely not for me!

Later on I heard some positive views and bought it for an absolute steal in EA. I haven't played any other game as much as TLD, not even close.

So thanks.
