After you harvest an animal, stop a bleeding or get injured, you will have blood on you.

Doing actions such as eating, using meds, or stopping bleeds with bloody hands will give you a chance of getting an infection

So make sure to get clean when you do something

As we never see them wash or clean anything anyway,we just assume they do...well I hope they do lol..

But I could see them boiling tons of water for a bath now and again.. very labour intensive though.

I could imagine this acting as a affliction risk. After harvesting an animal, or sustaining an bleed injury, you'd receive the "bloodied hands" affliction. Anything that involves possible ingestion or physical contact could result in an infection, with the treatment of bloody hands being the simple use of some potable water to clean them.

Although, it is noticeable that during the harvesting animation, your character does take off their gloves, and puts them back on afterwards, so you could say that they are no longer exposing themselves to a possible infection risk.

Yeah and letting the blood get all gross under your gloves doesn't sound much better.

I'm not really sure about this, because water is very simple to earn and stockpile in TLD. I think the only thing it'd do is incentivise harvesting animals in batches to avoid wasting water.

I actually like the idea of a full bath more- That could be a longer term goal that requires a lot of water at once, maybe heating it too. I'm less sure on its purpose though, random infections for refusal feels a bit punitive so I think I'd prefer a temporary buff- But I don't really know what it'd be. I think it'd feel cosy, though

If you're into hygiene you could always make the journey to a waterfall every couple dozen days and sit under it for a few minutes.

You can find such opportunities in HRV, AC, PV, and probably some other places

Having blood on you for an extended period of time will give you an infection either way

You don't get hypothermia from waterfalls, only from falling through thin ice.

Your warmth will be set to 0 and you will get hypothermia RISK, but not the hypothermia affliction. You will be fine after putting on clothes and warming up

I've accidentally fallen through a few waterfalls while goating in daft places lol... Admittedly hypothermia wasn't an issue . My clothes did get a very thorough wash but did take a battering, not unexpected of course..  I know you're not suggesting going in fully clothed  but I'm sure from a hygiene point of view it'd make sense to wash yourself and your clothes.. you chop a bear up with an axe your clothes are going to get blood on them..

We don't have to go to the toilet either if it's hygiene you mean...

I've seen people hoard newsprints as toilet paper on their main bases. People will find a way
