For being a rare pair of boots to find, I never felt like swapping out my current shoes for a pair of combat boots. They weigh the same as a pair of deerskin boots, yet offer quite a downgrade compared to trail boots. Defense may be good, but the other stats are lackluster. These are the kind of boots a solider would wear to keep their feet protected from harsh environments. Even the insulated boots are a better choice. If you don't want these boots to offer much warmth that's fine, but the other stats need a buff if you want me to use them in a playthrough.

I too have the same thoughts every time I do find a pair of combat boots. I would love to wear them, role play wise, but in most cases I just leave them because of the weight.

I think ski boots need a buff if anything. They have many unique advantages, but not being warmer than insulated boots for almost 3x the weight is strange.

I'd give it like half a degree of extra warmth or something, to make its description of "extremely warm" be actually true, lol 😆

Maybe there could be a "wearing in" period for the combat boots. So, maybe a pair at 80 percent allows more mobility than at 100 percent. Or maybe you could treat them with oil to become more pliable.

Honestly, the only reason i don't use Combat boots is because they slow me down.

I feel like the reason for this is that they're "military grade," meaning they're low quality and cheap, so they can be provided for a large amount of troops. But I'm no expert on what quality of boots the Canadian military is using at the time TLD takes place. Can't assume they're brand new either tho, they could be old surplus.

But I still agree, I barely ever wear the military boots, despite wanting to. They could still totally use a bit of a buff. I mean hell, they're even worse than the working boots. The combat boots should be at the very least a full 2 degrees.
