K3V038 Posted October 19 Posted October 19 Changes to already existing animals Ptarmigans Ptarmigan nesting grounds are already a thing, but we have no ptarmigan nests to use. My idea would be to have and use ptarmigan nests. You can use a nest as a tinder item that would give a better chance to start a flame, but would make a couple ptarmigans dissapear from the flock, or you could use eggs as a good food item, and in more recipes, with the trade back of ptarmigans not respawning in the nest later on if you choose to hunt the parents Rabbits Nothing to change about them, just changes to the places they are in. Rabbit groves, should have rabbit holes, where the animals go at night or run off to when spooked. A thing we could do with that, would be using snares in a better way, because they would have a guarantee to get a rabbit in them, with a obvious trade back of the rabbit population dwindling if you over trap the grove. Crows: For now we cant have any interactions with them, but a nice thing would be if they landed on carcasses from time to time, it would make the carcass slowly lose meat, or give you a oppurtunity to kill the crow like you would with a ptarmigan, then get the meat and the down layer of it to get a whole bunch of feathers New animal ideas The long dark already has enough animals, and with the upcoming cougar it will have even more, so I dont really think we need something New for the time being Food New cooking recipes The ptarmigan eggs have many ways to be prepared and eaten, my suggestions would be a tasty omlet, good for a filling breakfast, scrambled or fried eggs, or a small pound cake made in the skillet, by combining the eggs with flour, and condenced milk to celebrate something in the harsh world of the long dark I would love to see a expansion of the cooking system in the future, players in the forum already have given many great ideas for it
Heavy_Bear90 Posted October 19 Posted October 19 I think the rabbit holes is a great idea. Also having the nest as something to collect for tinder is great, however I don't think we would find any eggs in the season we are in. But I would love to see eggs added as something we can find in fridges
