Greetings from the black forest

Greetings to the forum from the heart of the black forest in Germany (where the nice Cuckoo clocks come from)
and thanks for having me.

First of all, thank you Hinterland for giving me the opportunity to fall into this world of beauty and peace. This game enriched my live in many ways. E.g. it helps me to consider more if my wishes for comfort and fancy stuff are actually necessary and if less wouldn’t make me more satisfied.

To my person: I am a middle aged man with a regular 9-5 job trying to keep my head above water and care for my family. I am not a native english speaker so please excuse if words are not spelled correctly or grammar is kind of awkward. I am surely not someone whos intention is to be rude, so if you find something offensive that is probably a matter of me not knowing how to express myself properly. This is the first time ever I join a forum or community online. But since I received so much information and support from this place the wish to be part of it or at least say hi grew. In RL I am interested in Bushcraft and survival, more about the skills and gear as actually using them. You know, kind of the being prepared just in case style. I love being outside in the woods walking or just sitting around hearing no other human sounds.

I came to TLD about two and a half years ago and have to say that this game ruined it for me because I can not start to play any new game. If I do after one hour or when I am through the tutorial I find my self saying "Nah, I am going back to great bear". I am an exclusive Nintendo Switch player and play mostly games with a survival aspect. It started with Green Hell because it was on sale and I really enjoyed it. I collected some other games but didn’t get far for mentioned reason. With TLD I like to play as voyager more or less successfully, longest run was about 120 days. In the beginning I absolutely "ate" the videos of Zaknafein and still do but being careful not to spoil my own experience. Currently I am discovering TFTFT and entered FA recently. It amazes me how this game runs on the switch. Of course there have to be performance problems with this old hardware but the mobility with this device is unbeatable in my opinion. I play on TV, in my car, in bed – just 3 Minutes loading and I am back in the snow.
My favorite region is desolation point and forsaken Airfield ranks up quite fast. What I enjoy most is, that I am by myself. Just me looking and sniffing around minding my own business.

I think this game is already great and I haven’t even done everything it offers. E. g. I did not start one of the challenges, yet. So I am not that eager for updates beside major bugfixes and have the employees of Hinterland do what they like within the time they need knowing that they work on something big in many people lives.

I really envy you living in the black forest,it's absolutely stunning..from pictures I've seen anyway..it's been one of my dreams to visit it.

Hey grindtime, a very warm welcome from my side, too☺️ I also introduced myself a couple weeks ago, see above, and I think you mistakenly responded to my post. Not that it would bother me in any way, but I guess it was unintended and you also wanted to make your own topic like me. It works with that red "Start new topic" button. Not sure if I can explain that properly @Leeandaas an admin can help for sure if needed.
