The Feng Hunter Posted October 8 Posted October 8 We don’t know what’s in the barrels: could be toxic waste, could be maple syrup, could be nothing. My money’s on “toxic waste” and “nothing.” 1
ThePancakeLady Posted October 8 Posted October 8 The main issue I see with this (and getting scrap metal from wheelbarrows) is we have a small hacksaw, meant to cut through thin metals and wood items. Thick steel bodies on wheelbarrows and the barrels is not going to cut through easily with a puny hacksaw. 3

I corpi in acciaio spesso delle carriole e dei barili non si tagliano facilmente con un seghetto debole. It wouldn't make any sense to think about it.
Leeanda Posted October 8 Posted October 8 Maybe a use as fire barrels when customisation comes out? 2

Though I wonder if it could be a bit powerful carrying around a fire barrel in lets say the Travois (because I assume it'll be very heavy) and just placing it down for a wind proof fire wherever you want in a region. Or there are only a few that can be moved and the weight would be punishing enough to make you only want to do it once😁 1

I imagine the weight of one would require the Travois to even move, I imagine it'd be too heavy to carry without one, which could already limit moving them from region to region. 1

A bit far fetched but if we could get that saw from keepers north,we could cut the barrels in half and have two fire pits from just one.. it would reduce the weight but take quite some time to cut.. 1

You mean this one ? 1

UTC-10 Posted October 13 Posted October 13 Although I can imagine major problems doing so (like moving the darn things), an additional machine to the milling machine might serve as a means to cut apart the barrels though I have absolutely no experience with such things. Issues like safety while doing so would be addressed in the implementation i.e. it is a completely safe action. Might be asking too much for something like a band saw or such for only cutting apart metal barrels though the devs could extend it to most anything else we could cut apart with the hacksaw like the hand carts and metal pails. At this stage of TLD it would be forlorn chance but if Hinterland were to continue some development work or start another DLC it might be a possibility. 2
