Francheetos Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Does anyone know how long items/Boats/Containers from blizzards stay on shore? Do I need to immediately start clearing the coast line to maximize loot yield or can I wait for some time (ie, blizzard ends at midnight but I want to sleep until dawn so I can see). If anybody knows how this mechanic works that would be a big help bc I'm on day 354 with the entire world looted and no second thermal underwear.
PilgrimReaper Posted September 12 Posted September 12 It's my understanding that anything that shows up after a blizzard on the shore will be available until the next blizzard. I could be wrong. 2
Pencil Posted September 12 Posted September 12 They stay until the next blizzard. Once another blizzard rolls through, I believe the existing items will despawn. However, they'll stay (and more items will spawn) if you are nearby. It used to be that if you were standing in a boat when a blizzard came, it would despawn from below your feet, but that's not the case anymore.
UTC-10 Posted September 13 Posted September 13 When I go beachcombing, I go about it seriously and systematically however all I can say about things like the large (comparatively) fishing boat, the life boat and canoe that wash up is that they, subjectively, seem to disappear by the next day or so.
