Objects spawning over each other

Finding this a common issue beachcombing in Coastal Highway in my current playthrough, but occasionally crops up in other areas too. Pick up an item and there's another duplicate item in its place.

While beachcombing, this was recently pretty funny because every location that previously had a corpse spawn in it now had a trunk spawn on it without deleting the corpse, so it looked like a swarm of mimics had attacked the area.
