Kinda hard to choose tbh - they're such different regions.

The airfield is definitely the easiest to get familiar with, for several pretty obvious reasons, so of the three main FT regions that's certainly the one I'm most comfortable visiting. It's so unusual to have such an open region, but that doesn't stop it from being interesting in any way. And once that fog rolls in (and it will!), you better hope you know where you are, where you're going, and exactly how to get there, because there aren't as many landmarks around as most other regions.

In some ways I'd say the Zone might be the most unique region in the FT, maybe even in the whole game - I'm trying to get to know it better just now, and I'm still struggling to form a coherent mental map of the area, let alone the mine or the transition cave system. It's not even that complicated so I don't know why I'm finding it difficult, but I'm sure I'll get there eventually. It has me rather captivated for the moment tho.

And the Pass ... oh boy! Such a stunning region, but man is it challenging! Which of course isn't a bad thing at all, but it maybe makes the region a little hard to love when it seems to be so hard set on killing you most of the time. It's even got me visiting BI more frequently, just so I can get some more practise dealing with timbies so I can spend more time in the Pass. And I do want to spend more time there, and not only because I'm sure it still has more than a few surprises for me. Maybe more than any other region in the game, I really want to get to know Sundered Pass well, because it's just just a beautifully realised territory. And dammit, I'm gonna get all those cute wee cabins well stocked with firewood, if it's the last thing I do. And the Weather Station too ... eventually.

Oh, and let's not forget Transfer Pass -  a lovely little breath of fresh air after that long trek to the FT, and somewhere conveniently nearby to retreat to after SP has beat you up. It always seemed fairly inconsequential to me that Ravine has no predators, but if I wasn't grateful enough for the respite afforded by TP after the Zone, I positively adore it now. Never has a "quiet" transit region felt more essential in this game.

I think just for the visuals I'm gonna pick Sundered Pass, but that's really the only reason I make that choice. The new regions we've got with TFTFT have all added their own flavour to the game, and we haven't even got to the end of everything we're getting from the DLC.

Forsaken Airfield for me.

It's cold, it's windswept, it's desolate, but it's far from empty.  It has two of (in my opinion) the best shelters in the game in Mindful Cabin and Lakeside Cottage.  The airport itself with the control tower, passenger terminal and hangars is a lot of fun to explore.  It has the only Forge in the Far Territory.  And the views across the region are just incredible, especially when the airfield is lit up by the aurora.

Sundered Pass would be second place, Transfer Pass third and Zone of Contamination third.  And that's not because I hate or even dislike ZoC - it's really well thought out and it has a lot of interesting features, like Idle Camp and the mine complex itself.  I thoroughly enjoyed exploring it and playing through Buried Echoes.  Compared to the other regions though, it feels to me more like a chapter of a story rather than a place to stay.

Not featured here, but I kinda like Keeper's Pass South.

It's not part of the far territories ,that's why it's not here.

I'd say a shared place between Transfer Pass/Sundered Pass. The Vale Station is greatly appreciated, and so is Lotte's Rest and Final Refuge.

I don't overly care for any of them with regards to long-term survival.  Only reason SP got my vote over FA is that FA is just too "open".  I like having more "stuff" packed into a zone.

Sundered Pass, followed by Forsaken Airfield, then Transfer Pass, then Zone of Contamination. I like the elevation differences present in Sundered Pass, it's just a very cool-looking region overall, with the high desolate plateau and the lower forested valley. Reminds me strongly of Hushed River Valley, my favourite of Lower Great Bear.

Forsaken Airfield is nice and scenic around the edges and has great shelters, though it's a bit too open to make it to the top spot. It is definitely easier to live in longer-term that Sundered Pass, however.

Transfer Pass is nice and predator-free but a bit too small IMO.

Zone of Contamination's chemical hazards just seem a bit cheesy to me -- though I'm someone with an MSc in chemistry so I might be in the minority here.

Transfer pass first, staying in the station just feels like stepping back in time to those old black and white movies..

I haven't been able to spend much time and explore forsaken because of the glimmer fog, which is more  prevalent than  the other two maps.. I'm sure it'd be my second favourite though as I love open maps, hence my base always being pv farm..   sundered and zoc are both great but in totally different ways..

Sundered is challenging, but the zone is a different feel to any other map ,plus sooo much loot 😊

Sundered Pass & Transfer Pass.

To be clear, I love them all — Far Range Branch Line might be my favourite transition region. And the caves throughout the Far Territory are so well thought out and executed.

The synergy between the 3 main regions is excellent — inexhaustible Coal from Langston Mine goes a LONG way, especially in Sundered Pass. The small ponds in SP allow for the refuelling of Jerry Cans. Last Lonely House & Weather Station are my main base now, and the avalanche shelters are so lovely, perfectly placed to stretch your abilities against the cold. I hope that, someday, we will be able to walk from Milton to this region — the map suggests a region would exist between SP and MT. Even if it’s a transition region, I’d love this so much.

Zone is difficult, but not impossible. There is SO much to explore and the high tier loot is rewarding as anything.

The Airfield is also fun, completely different from almost any other region … so cold, so desolate, so foggy. The only reason my base isn’t Mindful Cabin — nowhere to escape the Glimmer Fog.

Im excited to see what Part VI of Tales brings!!!

I find the whole of far territories as a great combination of regions with each having its own pros. Love the vastness and weather dominated challenge of FA, the abundance of materials in ZoC, and the central valley of SP with the wildlife paradise - best place to cure scurvy. And for a bit of calmth: Transfer pass.

FA is where I like spending longer times in one go, so that’s what i voted for above.

Interesting theory, I'm excited to see if Milton will be connected to the TFTFT regions in the future.

I don't believe for a second that there will be a transition region to Milton.

With that being said, and although I don't think there will be such a thing, I do dream of being able to go down Conductor's Drop off, to.... well, wherever, really.

Geographically it makes sense. That road — called Route 1 in game — has to go somewhere. While a direct connection to Milton seems unlikely (though who knows where the Trader lives!), it’s geographically feasible.

Besides, Milton needs rail access; it was, as Grey Mother said, a stopping point before the Great Bear Highway was installed along the coast.

My guess is that stopping point was between Port Mary (Grey Mother) and Transfer Pass.
