Bears still in game when off in settings

My son made me a custom run with bears off in the settings,and there were none until I got to twm.. 

This sort of happened a while ago on another save but then I just heard it roaring .this time it was actually there when it shouldn't be.

I have filed a bug report..

The bears and the rabbits are admins. They can bypass your settings just to scare you.

Not sure which is scarier lol..  .

But seriously there's a reason I don't play with bears off passive,  I have no problem with being mauled by wolves or stomped by moose though..

That's not all they can bypass. Yesterday I had a bear jump on me apparently from the top of the roof of the snow-swamped cabin in the SP plateau. I was trying to be so careful and sneaky too, but it seems bears can be sneakier ... if they don't have to worry so much about game physics.
