I am in Pilgrim and don't use snow shelters but with the rather colder temps in Sundered Pass, even in Pilgrim, I wonder if the snow shelter could use an upgrade to an improved snow shelter.

The improvement I am thinking of would be the addition of a fire pit outside the entrance of the snow shelter.  It would provide one cooking surface, provide warmth, and allow for a wind protected fire similar in appearance to the campfires before we got the current campfire.  A limitation on the firepit might be that it can only be used while occupying the snow shelter.  Of course this might be too OP.

Any additional material, labor, and time requirements would be at the devs' discretion in implementation.

I suppose some might want an igloo but the time, material, and labor needed would obviously be significantly greater.

I don't expect this to become  a reality during the current DLC but maybe if TLD continues into the future.

also make snow shelters easier to place. Also the 15C bonus seems too little compared to how cold it can get sometimes.

As I vaguely recall back when the snow shelter was first introduced to the game that its warm bonus was sufficient to allow someone to survive in it while naked during a blizzard at the Pleasant Valley farmstead.  I think that the snow shelter was "tuned" based on that kind of experience.  To retune the snow shelter now would make the firepit superfluous and might be construed as making the game difficulty, such as Interloper, easier to deal with.

But if it gets revisited it would be an option in lieu of the firepit idea.
