So the game quite often wont save between regions atm. Just crashed while in Forsaken Airfield. Loaded the save again and I am all the way back at the summit in Sundered Pass. A good two or three hours ingame backwards. And this isnt the first time. The first time I just thought something odd happened. But now I know its a bug. And an annoying one at that

If you went via the ZOC-FAR cave then the game should have saved when you entered the SPR entrance.

If you took the long path to Transfer Pass then went to FAR via the road, I don't recall whether crossing from TP to FAR generates a save.  Not all crossing of a transition from one region to another generates a save (iirc).

That said, I have encountered, a couple years ago, instances where the game save function did not work even if it appeared to (date-time file stamps were sadly out of date, especially the save game file.  As a result of that happening a number of times, I have the Survival folder open and look at my user and save game file to ensure that the date-time stamp on the files is the same or within a few minutes of each other or differ in a way that I can account for.  At least it there was a big discrepancy I would know that the game save went wrong and did not happen.  Not much can be done but I won't be surprised much.

I understand the frustration.  All I can suggest is that when you complete a long journey or played a long time without a save event that you may take the time to force one for that Just In Case event.

Good luck.

Oh yeah, I just use a mod to add autosaves and manual saves/loading. But what you mentioned about the saves just not working makes more sense as I have the autosave set to 15 minutes, which should have been long enough to save at least once on the trip (SP > TP > FA), since I didnt rush it and stopped in TP to dump stuff and harvest some corpses

I hope you don't run into that failure to save again.

The time I was referring to was when TLD was still 32 bit and the game had to juggle memory chunks.  Once the game updated to 64 bit that particular problem pretty much went away but pretty much does not necessarily mean completely.  It did improve considerably.

Good luck.
