CrazyLazyCat Posted July 8 Posted July 8 So i finished all the Last Horizon quest line to find a ruined Tactical Jacket. Pretty disappointed that the dev team didn't put a failsafe to prevent those unique itens from spawning ruined. All the effort I went through the entire DLC up to now, to supposedly get this ONE reward... Type of thing the makes you want uninstall the game and drop a negative review on steam. 2
artmunki Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Aye, I was kinda disappointed with that too tbh - both gloves and jacket were ruined by the time I got to them (probably spawned ruined, as my run was well over 800 days when the region launched). But to be totally fair, there's a decent chance I might not have used them anyway, especially the jacket. That said, I've been getting good use out of the tech.balaclava and the aviator cap, so you never know. Guess I'll just have to wait until my next run to actually find out for sure, but I'm in no rush to get there. 4
ManicManiac Posted July 9 Posted July 9 (edited) @CrazyLazyCat When new content comes out... there is always a chance players will find/uncover things a dev team didn't expect or anticipate. I'd be willing to venture a guess that what you experienced probably is not intended. I'd also be willing to guess that if folks open support tickets when they come across things like this... that they would very likely get fixed. I'd recommend submitting a support ticket. I get that you are upset... I do. It would be a disappointing way to end the last Tale, for sure. However, I think perhaps your final statement feels like a bit of an overreaction. Hang in there Survivor, it's going to be alright. Edited July 9 by ManicManiac 7
artmunki Posted July 9 Posted July 9 Well, Raph has stated before that the game wasn't really intended to be played with your survivor sticking around indefinitely - I suspect that's why there's a feat for surviving 500 days, but no other similar milestones beyond that. There seems to be a few different decay measures at play in the game, and it just happens that these two items were allocated a decay rating that means you have to find them earlier in your run. Bit of a bummer for us long-game players right now, with the region/items just new on the scene, but in the long term I don't think it's something worth changing. We'll all get to check them out eventually - no-one lasts forever, after all! 3
turtle777 Posted July 9 Posted July 9 My tactical gloves were also ruined. Doesn't matter, rabbit mitts are better anyways, since they are infinitely repairable. Any clothing item using leather is not great for long runs. Same goes for tactical jacket, bear coat is my preferred choice. -t
Leeanda Posted July 10 Posted July 10 (edited) On pilgrim, just finished the tales and found the jacket,it said ruined but I was still able to repair it... I'm nearly 900 days in on the run.. Edited July 10 by Leeanda 2
Baltazar Posted July 10 Posted July 10 I found the gloves at 14%, interloper, 210 days in. Seems like it goes ruin at around day 250. I did not find the jacket, I dont think that spawns in loper.
UTC-10 Posted July 18 Posted July 18 Game shows ruined when condition < 5 or 10%. When condition hits 0% then it is RUINED ruined. As long as the condition is 1% or better it should be something that can be mended. Whether it would be worth mending is another consideration. I watched a video of someone who got to the end of Last Horizon, got all the badges, but there was no sign of the tactical jacket ruined or otherwise. At least a ruined tactical jacket could be harvested for cloth. I am past 3,000 days in my Pilgrim game (started December 2022). From what I have heard, I would not expect to find a usable jacket or gloves. 1
UTC-10 Posted July 24 Posted July 24 Found the tactical gloves, ruined, condition 0%, which was expected given what others have reported. Would have been nice to have something that could, at least, have been repaired, even requiring multiple repairs, but it is what it is. Expect similar with the tactical jacket when I eventually get there so no hurry since the character reward would be non-functional anyway and only good (if it shows up) for harvesting.
UTC-10 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 The hotfix today (8/7/2024, v. 2.32) makes reference to tactical gloves and jacket condition being adjusted so there is a CHANCE that they won't be ruined in long-running games. I am past 3,100+ days in my run so this gives me hope but not much. 👍

Day 5,000 ? 🤣 -t Of course, that was a possible outcome under consideration. 😉 I can imagine that the Trader and the Customization of Safe House would be hard to implement but having them come as Part 6, the final installment of the DLC, kind of depresses me. 😪 Maybe I can perk myself up with 🍩🍪 1
I_eat_only_wolf_meat Posted August 9 Posted August 9 My tactical gloves were ruined in interloper. Seems par for the course for long runs. My overall feeling on ruined items is that they should still be repairable, maybe only if you have level four or five sewing and maybe it takes two or three times the materials and has a higher chance of failure per attempt. 2
UTC-10 Posted September 5 Posted September 5 I finally went to finish Last Horizon and found a 71% tactical jacket. YAY! 🏆 At 3,300+ days in this run, despite the hotfix, I had not expected to get such a good condition item when compared (pre-hotfix) to the ruined tactical gloves I had previously found. 😪 Now the real question: Where did Rudiger's gun go? Did the foreman do what almost never gets done in the movies - take the firearm the opponent drops? 😲 It might have been interesting to have a body (or camp) appear, after completing the Last Horizon quest, randomly somewhere in the Far Territories, that would be labeled/identified as "The Foreman" or "The Foreman's Last Camp". Probably not worth the effort to find, but a possibility and could have a few goodies as well. I have been thinking that TLD - Wintermute and Tales - could have left a few more unresolved loose ends in places related to the underlying situation and to the ongoing situation.
