What are your tips for survival runs with no healing? My first misery run is about two weeks in and my health has been taking quite the beating. My first few days were pretty rigorous and now I'm realizing I can't tank any more health loss. Cabin fever is probably near too.

So what are your tips for surviving in runs like deadman, NOGOA, and Misery? Do you save teas until you HAVE to use them, or do you consume every one you can to get around? I assume you drink all of your birch teas first since they are renewable and save the others. Do you burn through coal every time you start a fire, or use teas to warm up instead? Do you prepare your burdock and acorns into tea/coffee for warmth or eat them raw for more calories? Where's your favorite base for these harder difficulties? Is beach combing a necessity late game, or is it too risky?

^ YouTube video idea for anyone who regularly plays these types of runs because I couldn't find any videos with tips for them lol.

I found it difficult to make the necessary mental shift from putting up with a little bit of freezing or fatigue because 'ah, I'm almost back at base' to avouding those red meters at all cost. Getting cold? Stop and make a fire, even if you're almost home. It's amazing how quickly those hitpoints disappear. For me, that's the killer, not so much big damage like wolf or bear attacks.

Teas are essential, pick as many as you safely can. Get used to the rhythm/timing of drinking them for max Warming Up before they get cold. A Flask is a lifesaver if you can find one. I don't save teas, I use them whenever I can. Great Bear has plenty to forage, even on Misery. Birch bark is renewable, yes, but the Warming Up effect isn't as effective as reishi or rose [I think! Can anyone confirm?]

Watch your weight, being slow makes everything harder. Good inventory management will help.

Prioritise finding Emergency Stims. It's worth it.

Good luck, survivor! :fire:

Reishi, rosehip, burdock teas replenish ~40% of warmth meter.

Regular/Acorn coffee, herbal and birch bark teas replenish ~20% of warmth meter.
