Occasionally, I become completely stuck (even the camera won't move) after harvesting a wolf and pressing the button to leave the harvesting screen

This has been since the latest Tales dropped last month, and it's fairly rare but quite significant. I'll harvest a wolf (hasn't occurred with any other animals yet), then when I'm done, I press the button to back out of the harvesting screen, at which point I lose control of my character. I can still access the main menu, but I can't move, look around, open my inventory, open the item/weapon wheel, crouch, etc. No inputs other than the Esc key are accepted. My only option is to reload my most recent save, which can sometimes be a long time ago. Using and navigating the main menu works fine, it's just the in-game stuff that seems disabled, perhaps the changes in the gameplay/inputs when harvesting aren't being reset afterwards?

I've never had this problem before (been playing since 2017). It's just been since the recent Tales episode dropped.

I'm on Windows 11 x64, and I play with the Steam Controller (hot-swapping to the keyboard and mouse doesn't help, only the Esc key or the associated button on the controller have any effect). I also tried switching off the Steam Controller when the issue occurs, which causes the "controller disconnected" warning screen to appear, and then I'll try the mouse and keyboard, but it still doesn't work. I've played with the Steam Controller from day one of owning the game in 2017 with no problems.

Thanks for your time!

Just to put this out there: disabling Vertical Sync seems to have solved it. I had to disable V-Sync because of another performance issue I was having, and it has had the unexpected effect of fixing the problem with becoming stuck after harvesting animals. I've been harvesting dozens of animals since I disabled V-Sync, just to be sure it worked and it wasn't a placebo, and I haven't had the issue again.

I assume the frame rate and the effect it has on animations might be involved, but I don't know enough to know that for sure!

The other issue I was having that led to me disabling V-Sync was a strange jerky framerate, it was unlike the poor framerate you might get in a resource-heavy game, but more like every other frame was disappearing, so it was like I was teleporting forward every second or two as I walked. My PC is quite beefy, so it was weird that it started happening out of the blue. Disabling V-Sync fixed that problem, too. Luckily I don't need V-Sync in this game (there's no screen tearing), but other players almost certainly will.

Cheers!

Looks like I spoke too soon 😂 just encountered the problem again, losing about 45 minutes of playtime. I give up. I can't keep losing an entire session like this.

Not sure why it stopped for so long and then started again 🤷‍ Hopefully the team will get to my bug report.
