I think it would be really cool if there was like a primitive mode or story where you could play as a native way back when with no technology but more options for creating such as stone or bone arrow heads wolf skin hats and craft able teepees animal calls could be a thing and maybe add some large fauna such as bison etc I think there is some real potential there for crafting ideas also adding seasons with different environmental dangers for each one.

Nice idea, but maybe it might be better for a new game ..I think it'd take a lot of work for a challenge but I do like it.

And welcome to the forum😊

Great suggestions. Would it be too daring of me to assume you are a fan of Far Cry Primal? If not, I would give it a look, it's a pretty neat ( albeit old ) game.

I think that's a great idea, it'd be a hoot running around as a native killing deer n stuff with obsidian arrowheads and crap.

But as @Leeanda stated, Seems like a lot for just a new mode for TLD, and correct me if I'm wrong, but i think that at a point even Raph said that just adding other seasons would more than likely institute an entire new game. add the envisioned mechanics along with that and it just seems like a lot.

And as @ManicManiac stated, i would also be interested on how they could work the culture and ideologies of the first nations' people into a game like that. I'd love to see a game that would be based off of my heritage. that's a cool way to learn.

And @Dan_, I'll have to look into Far Cry Primal. Sounds cool.

And of course, Welcome to the Forums.

This could be an amazing idea for a new challenge mode.

If it were limited to one or two of the real "wilderness area", all the modern equipment and food was disabled and removed from that challenge mode, it could almost work as is - no new crafting options neccesary. The only real issues might be the few "unavoidable" moments like the look of the survivor in clothing hud, but frankly, thats not that bad I would say.

But for the original idea - yea, sorry but it might be easier for a new game, to be honest.

Only real issue I see at the moment would be firestarting materials, cant really get past that modern hurdle with what we currently have in game.

This sounds very like the Neo-Native Challenge that @Gun Tech. gifted to the community a couple years ago:

I really enjoyed watching people playing this one!

I agree that it would be better as a new game. There's a real lack of media based in Indigenous communities, either historical or contemporary, and it would fit a game like TLD so well. Something like a new TLDish game with features like the Neo-Native Challenge, but also elements (tools/techniques/language/art… ) from a First Nations community would be very very cool. (Making sure there are First Nations devs doing the designing, ofc)
