Curse of instant scurvy

So I just loaded up my save to go to the new region, and I have been cursed with scurvy. Wasn’t given an option to turn it on or off. Also says cougar in five days. I know I wasn’t in transfer pass for 25 days so not sure what that’s about. Maybe timer till they can spawn.

the instant scurvies kinda annoying. I was planning to turn it on to give me more things to do. But it’s full on scurvy. Had to drop an extra 5 kg of supplies to make the rope climb. Hoping to do some fishing or something in the sundard pass. Got plenty of rose hips and cattails so it should be fine. Just kinda annoying.

Got instant scurvy on my 400+ day IL run. I was given an option to turn on/off the cougar, but not scurvy.

No big deal, sat down in BR for a few days, eating just fish.

Ready to go to finish the Tales.

This is so interesting to me I’ve seen a few posts but this didn’t happen to me on four separate saves, I wonder if the game somehow retroactively tracks your diet when the update dropped because I eat a lot of fish and birch tea and I’m wondering if that’s why I didn’t have any scurvy risk when it updated or If I just got really lucky
