AFAICT you can't get down there, and yes, I tried.

I suspect that the two named locations overlooking this valley are there to provide possible egress to more regions if Hinterland should decide to add them to the game.

I started a new game after not playing since September of last year and I always play on Custom difficulty and always choose "Random" as my start location. Game puts me in Blackrock, I'm walking on this road and I'm like "I'm fully expecting Timberwolves to show up any minute" Soon as I get into the car I'm sitting in now, here comes a Timberwolf, it kills a deer and now I'm stuck. I hate you, game 😂🤣
