What scares a bear in TLD?

Was in ML, near Trapper's Cabin, when I encountered a bear. Shot once with a .303 and then later with an arrow. Up on the ridge, tracking him as he walked around. Suddenly, when he was near Max's Last Stand, the bear started screaming and running! I hid behind a tree as it was coming right at me. What the heck can scare a bear like that, other than me shooting him???

They're q bit bugged at the moment I think...    I'm guessing it was in range of you and just went into flight mode again.

Maybe...however both times I shot it it charged me and I barely made it into the cabin in time. So it was never in flight mode...and I was WAY far from the bear when it got spooked. Odd!

Maybe  they've added a dying panic mode ,when the bear realizes it's near the end and makes a dash to get home.  Weirder things have happened.
