Fire hardened point on a stick

I was thinking about a fire-hardened point on a long stick as a spear. During a wolf attack you would get one shot to stick the bugger before he's on you and tearing you to pieces. But with a good initial stab, you could do something like 40% damage and get the edge on him.

The interface would be similar to the rifle - right click to aim the spear and left click for your jab. Your timing would have to be pretty good but it would make it so that those with practice might have a chance at surviving a small pack (once wolf packs is implemented - because we need that too, right?)
