I died repeatedly on capable due to being constantly attacked by wolves! Half the time I didn't have time to bandage myself before being attacked again, even halfway up a fallen tree! I wasn't the only one either quite a few people had the same problem!

Thanks god we have now the drill machine and one can repair rifle in Bleak Inlet or Blackrock Prison. One has to fight his way in though.

It can only jam at under 45% condition otherwise it has no jamming chance but look out even though it bear and wolf attacks you drop your rifle it can still take loads of damage

not typically.  but you might expect a firearm in poor condition to do so.  there's a few moving parts, whose movement could be compromised by excessive dirt and the build up of of excessive gunpowder residue. 
well, IRL, there are some gun lubricating oils that are not rated for cold climate conditions where the oil used to lubricate the bolt could actually freeze.  So yeah, in a case like that, a good condition weapon could easily malfunction.

I do think in the case of the game, that there are some possiblities of a misfire with ammo made at the cannery if the players skill level is not very high in the gunsmithing category.   The bullets made there aren't always perfect.

I found it I bad condition and I was wolf hunting with it. I had spent nights just looking for a cleaning kit. Stupid bear tho. You have to shoot a bear like 3 times for it to die.

Two days to achieving Silent Hunter on my first Stalker run I decide to go to Coastal Highway via The Ravine and put Autowalk on. I stopped to negotiate the single rail on the trestle only to casually stroll off into the abyss.
