Inventory and storage weight shown at the same time?

Am I the only one who finds it odd, that while I'm moving things between the backpack and any storage I can only see the weight/limit of the storage, but not the weight I am carrying. I need to close the storage, to see the weight of my inventory, then open the storage again, to continue organizing.
I think the two weights shown at the same time would be a simple quality of life improvement... (they are not even shown on the same part of the screen, so could fit easily I believe)
Anyone knows maybe why these are not shown together?
