Skis and poles for faster travel

If only as some sort of quick travel mechanic, although actually skiing would be pretty awesome too! But this would be a fast(er) travel option that would be authentic to the game and pretty much only require planks, nails (forge?), hide and sticks.

Perhaps possible to find as loot by corpses or at houses too?

Netflix had a documentary called “Happy People”.  It’s a little slow at times but they show how traditional skis are made.  Check it out if you get the chance.
