I initially thought the flare had no sound even though the description of it says it is noisy. I found I do get some sound from it when walking and turning and I get more sound from it when I side step. No sound when walking or running straight or not moving.

Does this happen if you equip one of the flares you start with? Not sure yet what is causing this (haven't been able to repro).

Yes the starting flares do the same. I am running Win XP with a three year old motherboard so I am lucky to even be able to play and hear anything. I seem to have the wind sound loud (turned it down) but other sounds seem quiet (footsteps), music is a good level, but I have the voice at max and can not really hear it. This and the gunshot lacking sound may be due to my system. The dam makes a lot of noise at a normal volume.
