The one I always wonder about is the guy on the ledge inside Hibernia Processing in DP. He has a torch, and he clearly went all the way out on that ledge for a reason... escaping something?

Found this convict in the old farmhouse as I'm replaying Wintermute.  Sure was a surprise. Don't remember seeing this dude the first time around.
I really coulda used that knife on account all I had was a hatchet and a prybar but at the time I found him he was still alive and the knife although having caused his mortal wound was actually keeping him from bleeding out so I had to leave it in him.  Damn!

He didn't say much so I left him like this.

Dead in the Dam

I wonder what happened to this guy.  One of the Forest Talker gang of Eco-Activists according the note I found him.  
supposedly there was a lot of wolf activity in the area and his only weapon was this flare gun they left him.

Looks like maybe he used it a few times to run off some of the wolves but eventually either his fear or the extreme cold caught up to him.
dying in a toilet stall in an old bathroom seems like a truly tragic way to die.  

 

wait a minute.  now that I'm looking at this picture a little closer, are those extra flares in the lid of this container? 
kinda looks like those are flares.  snap!  gonna have to go back and check that out now...

Dead in a Tram

After getting the much needed medical supplies from the dam, I duck into the abandoned tram
only to find this guy who obviously musta missed his stop...

His backpack yield food, ammo and clothing.  Was an immediate upgrade for my wardrobe!  thank you.

Wondering what happened to this poor chap?
So far the only death explained and only because
he chronicled his demise in the bloody note he left
alongside his body.  

One of Milton's residents, seems like he got fairly far, 
just not far enough.

Wintermute Episode 2

In the Bear's Den

I'm pretty banged up from getting my ass drug across halfway across FM
and as I'm slowly creeping about the bear cave trying to find a way out, 
I come across this poor soul.  Looks like he too was a victim to this bear's
ravenous appetite for human flesh!  

His name was Eliza and he was Desperately trying to meet up with some companions out on CH
according to a note I found on him as I was looting an unused bandage and some antiseptic from his lifeless body.
but as you can see he never made it that far.  At least he deprived that old bear of a meal or two...

Coming across another corpse in this game isn't a new thing
but finding a corpse kneeling to death is definitely a new one for me!

Another one of those escape's from the prison, 
this guy died pretty much from exposure.  When I
looted his lifeless body his backpack contained a 
new bag of Beef Jerky.  Found a note while turning out his pockets,
seems he was aware that his crimes and poor decisions had
led him to this end.

I wonder how long this guy has been stuck in this
elevator?  Fairly long, I'm certain.  His backpack 
was empty, a candy bar wrapper on the floor and
an empty tin can.  he died a slow and lonely death
with only the banging sounds of the decaying dam
constantly reminding him he is locked in this icy metal 
coffin.

Wintermute Episode 3

You've heard of Lover's Leap?  or is it Lover's Lament?
I recently discovered the bodies of two missing Pleasant Valley teens
who apparently thought it was a good idea to make their date night
rendezvous a romantic adventure deep in the recesses 
of the mountains behind a deadly underground waterfall.

From the looks of things, they had a nice meal of grilled rabbit and cooked beans.
I think the empty bottle of Crown Royal nearby was the catalyst of their demise.

In a hazy cave near the Mystery Lake scenic overlook was a guy with a polaroid, an archery magazine, and an open book.  He probably dozed off quite comfortably while reading, but forgot to stoke his fire for the long night..

So many dead bodies, so many untold stories...
I'm pretty sure there are still some undiscovered sitting dead, please feel free to add your discoveries when you come across them.   Still lots of regions to explore and with the new regions coming, even more opportunities to add to the collection!

A Blizzard came. I hid in the trailer. And I saw it. It seemed like a reminder and a suggestion at the same time. I saw the perfect way out of this situation. Just fall asleep. You just need to sleep.

So I went to the next trailer. I don't like sleeping in the same room with these guys. I envy them.

With all the wolves nearby, you'd expect to see just a skeleton.  They don't like the smell of this one.

I'd just surveyed a section on my charcoal map when this wolf carcass was discovered. 

On my way down I to check it out, I noticed this corpse as I was clambering down from the opposite side.

Found this poor chap boxed into a corner between a ledge over a waterfall
and what was left of the wolf pack that had him boxed in.

I think he may have been bitten several times which hampered his ability to load his rifle as evidenced by the three live rounds laying in the snow by his rifle.
Appears he valiantly stood off those wolves, at least killing one before driving the others away. 
He didn't have much else of value except a grape soda, my favorite btw, and a decent t-shirt.  Thanks for the rifle, too.

As I make my way through HRV looking for a way out,
I duck into this cave to ride out the blizzard that is beginning to
build up outside only to find its already being occupied by
this unfortunate soul.

Hard to tell what killed this guy considering the scene.  
There was some food and drink nearby, firewood,  some scrap metal and an flare round.
When I turned out his pockets I found an additional 3 flares and 2 rounds of rifle ammo.
As I relieved the corpse of his flare gun, Astrid quips,

"I hope nobody's gonna need this..."

I love her wicked sense of humor!

Can't forget about this poor guy sitting here 
all alone and forgotten just in sight of Misanthrope's cabin.

Usually good for a round or two of rifle cartridges
but after searching him quickly nothing of value
except for a couple of nearby sticks and some 
crow feathers.
