No game file location

I recently installed The Long Dark on my PC (I've been playing Xbox for a while now) and I wanted to try a few light mods but I needed the file of the game, and I can't find it. I've downloaded it from the Windows 10 store purely for convenience since I already owned it on Xbox and it was free. I went the usual route of locating it and a few other file paths (search and manually) but nothing shows up. I did turn on hidden files and tried accessing it from advanced options on the game itself but it doesn't lead to anything. Is it possible to access it for copying a save or mods? I'm fairy new to technical things on computers.

I would try brute force. Try to search for TheLongDark on whole drive C or on whole computer. It has to show up. Or you can search for sandbox<NR> to locate save file. I think those strings are pretty unusuall so you will have very few false positives.

But personally I have no experience with Windows 10 store. Maybe it is stored somewhere else like in the cloud.

I tried searching "TheLongDark" on the whole computer and nothing comes up (other than the mod). On the game shortcut within the desktop you can access the folder path, and it just says the path to the shortcut rather than the game data. I'm still able to play and it is saved. The only place like the cloud is OneDrive and it isn't there either.

Might try doing local drive search for user001.64569 or sandbox or sandbox1.  While searching for TheLongDark folder should bring up a reference to the folder, the other search terms refer to files that should be in the folder.  Do the search, select one of selections and open file location.  User001.64569 is your user file and the build number. The save game file would likely be "sandbox1 or sandbox2, etc.".
