coryduran
It takes a few minutes for your body to warm up enough to not be freezing anymore. If you enter a house while freezing and you're at like 5%, you'll likely die before warming up unless you have a fire already going or can start one immediately. This also depends on what your gear is like, if you're inside but it still only feels like 32-38 it's going to take a while to warm up.
TLDFAN
In the last update they changed the cold meter to still slowly incur cold even inside. There are some exceptions. Standing next to a fire of course being one, and also having sufficient insulating clothes being another. However when you climb into your sleeping back to sleep or into a bed they both provide some warmth which should be sufficient to warm you up. I am under the impression hot foods also aid you recovery and slow your rate of exposure. Only one of these may be true.Lastly, if the weather is nice out and warm the internal temperature will climb a few degrees in the daytime which will slowly warm you up in addition to the other factors already mentioned.
