Killed by Aurora

Recommended Posts

Huh. There's a mine in CH in which you can go down with an elevator? In that case, it's actually pretty cool if people die down there, waiting for the next aurora. Because that seems kinda realistic.

They added that mine entrance in CH when story mode dropped EP3.

It's actually an exit, where Astrid enters the mine in PV at the end of EP3, but comes out here instead of the regular exit at the top of CH.

People have been getting claimed in there by the aurora more often than that old bunker in EP2 near Hat Creek.

I have been to the CH aurora mine several times on survival (Loper/DMC). My plan is to prepare for the event- well rested at nightfall and inventory light so I will not be encumbered after I loot the lower aurora mine. As soon as the aurora hits take the elevator down. And then I am running (where I can) and looting. It should not take more then an hour-ish (in game time) to loot the whole lower part of the mine. Do not tarry. Do not break crates, ect. down. Get down there. Loot fast. Return.

And there are goodies down there even on Loper/DMC. It is worth it.

Been a while.. I think I've only looted it once, can't remember much about it. I was just about to ask you if the loot is worth it on Loper/DMC. Nice, I'll check it out on my way to the Q.

And just curious.. wouldn't the elevator take us up, not down, since it was bringing us from the PV mine and that's significantly uphill? I was alwasy wondering this, and keep seeing people talking about taking the aurora elevator down. Semantics, I guess, but I obsess over such details. 😃

I consistently find revolvers down there- even though they are not supposed to spawn on Loper/DMC. I've found gunpowder, and other bullet making items. I've found decent clothing (at times) and always some food and lantern oil- and of course the coal.
