How long does bear carcass lie around?

A couple of times recently, ( in Stalker level games),  I have killed a bear, taken hide and part of the meat then left the carcass with guts and remaining meat intending to finish off the butchering of the carcass a few days later when conditions were better.  In these two recent cases the carcass disappeared before I finished the work.  In the latest game I had probably only been away for 4 nights, I'm not sure, but the butchered meat was still at 76% condition and the hide only 34% cured.  I tended to think the carcass took the same time to disappear as the hide took to cure.  That is based on something I read in a comment, not a result of my testing.  The carcass of a nearby wolf killed at around the same time as the bear was still lying in the snow.

Has anyone info. of the time it takes for a bear carcass, that has been incompletely butchered, to disappear ?

I've actually seen a Moose carcass disappear within a day

This is especially taxing if they run off and die somewhere. I scour the map for hours and have lost my kills this way. The other day, I found the bear in the cave, assuming it had just walked all the way back while slowly bleeding to death. Ridiculous as I'd shot at it at the farm.

I killed a wolf in the cave in Desolation Point and it disappeared after a day.

I've never tested it, but to me they seem to disappear more quickly once you've started harvesting them compared with just leaving them.
