Question for you:

Will You eat unsalted meat? I think, you won't.

So, what about to add a Salt or package of salt? I think it'll be good.

In a surviving context, the only use I can see of salt is for preservation. Otherwise, it cost more water and brings pretty much nothing in term of calories.

To answer the question: Yes I would (and already do often) eat unsalted meat (and unsalted potatoes and vegetables).

I think salt falls into the category of realistic but too annoying. The amount of salt necessary to process all the hides and meat in question is way, way more than most of you may be imagining. And lugging fifty pounds of salt around ain't any kind of fun.
