ArrayKnight
Currently lateral and backwards movement appear to be equal to forward movement (walking or running). And there don't appear to be any sort of drawbacks to changing direction quickly while running or stopping quickly. I know a lot of the AAA FPS game studios put huge amounts of effort into getting a realistic movement model. Is this something that is on the todo list? Or would it consume too much time to tune? Guest Alan Lawrance
We have a general "todo" of improving player control (things like slipping/sliding down slopes), and more realistic movement could be part of that. There has been some focus on that -- you'll notice you move faster when going downhill, and slower when moving uphill. Changing speed based on movement direction is certainly worthy of discussion. ArrayKnight
I'd like to add high speed wind to the effects on movement. A 60+ mph wind would greatly effect you whether you were walking into or with it.

Guest Alan Lawrance
I like it too. Besides affecting movement speed, it could also have an impact on your calorie burn (i.e., when you are moving against the wind).

ArrayKnight
There could even be a camera lean similar to limping. More of that diegetic feedback that Raph is so fond of.
