Bill Tarling
It can help for getting into smaller areas... lessens chance of injuries going down steep hills, and makes climbing dangerous edges a little easier... hiding (most likely to be more applicable towards story mode)... allows you to crouch into tighter/warmer warmth radius by stoves/fire/warm spots... wynarator
Crouching doesn't affect deers in any way, but Bill said everything else it does.

To be safe I always crouch when a hill is very steep, nice to know it actually makes a difference.Hadn't noticed there's a heat difference when crouching next to a fire/ stove. Good to know. Alvinius
In my experience crouching while going down steep descents including rocks prevents sprains. You can jump from higher heights crouched.
