ErickRedfieldh
Possible to make it so when we pick up multiple jerry cans, it fills one in our inventory before adding the can? Or be able to combine the liquid?I can't vouch for others, but if I were to find multiple cans, instead of carrying all of them, I'd fill one and discard the rest. elloco999
Second this. I'd also like to be able to combine jerry cans.

John Dow
yah but choose the can before, because they have different conditions. And spill a bit, that can be inflamed if u use some matches
ErickRedfieldh
So mayhaps instead of auto-fill on pickup, a fill option (like on the lantern) that would fill the selected can with all the others up to its fill limit (whatever that is.....20L or ~5 US g?). Then we could keep the cans with the better condition and discard the others.
elloco999
As far as I'm concerned it can be automatic. The jerry cans don't degrade anyway... For that reason, why not make them all 100%?
EternityTide
maybe because not all jerry cans are in the same condition anyway, when you pick them up, some will be dented, some won't, perhaps affecting the scrap metal yield on harvest
Monsterguts173
+1 this. Would like to be able to combine or distribute kerosene like you can with water, perhaps unlocked when you find a the jerry can.
klesh
I agree with being able to pour a liquid from one jerrycan to another. I would also like to pour the liquids from the individual Lantern Fuel containers into a jerrrycan for consolidation at my base.Idea:-Lootable funnel which allows you to pour liquids back and forth without losing any. Try it without a funnel and you will lose an amount of liquid.
caverdude
And what about from lantern to lantern or lantern back to jery can. Some times Ive had up to 3 lanterns.
jackattack
I would like to be able to transfer kerosene between jerry cans, but I also think that a jerry can should be required to transfer kerosene to a container. (You can't just pour kerosene into a desk drawer or a locker.) I would also like to recover kerosene from lamps when they are harvested for scrap metal. Kaisentlaia
If you harvest a lamp while you have a not full jerry can in inventory the fuel from the lamp should go into the jerry can, or at least that's what I heard (never tried). Same for harvesting a not empty jerry can.

BigJayA
If oil lamps are added to the game then a full jerry can will keep you in glow for a long long long, longlonglong time. The long dark indeed. 8-) There is a difference between kerosene and lamp oil but I imagine that some/most lamps can burn both. Still wouldn't mix the two for storage though. elloco999
...I also think that a jerry can should be required to transfer kerosene to a container. (You can't just pour kerosene into a desk drawer or a locker.)...Have you tried putting kerosene in a desk drawer without the jerry can/ lamp/ fuel bottle? Because that's not possible, just like you would expect. You can only move the item containing the kerosene, not (part of) the kerosene itself. jackattack
I had not. I assumed it was like water, which seems to spontaneously generate gallon jugs for containers, and liter bottles when dropped.Which seems to be an accurate representation of the number of empty plastic bottles discarded in America, according to the recycling commercials. elloco999
No, Kerosene doesn't work like water and in fact, I think water should be more like kerosene in that respect. It always irked me that water bottles just appear out of thin air.But plastic bottles are "everywhere" these days, that's true
jackattack
I've started exploiting the water bottle/jug thing by stashing clean water in various locations.I would not object if they added gallon jugs, liter bottles, and quart canteens to the item list. elloco999
Yes, most experienced players create stashes like that in strategic places.I would like such containers for water very much. Would make managing your water supply more of a challenge. In one game I had a supply of 800+ liters in my main camp and 20+ in every major location in ML and CH. That wouldn't be possible if containers were limited.

jackattack
Jackrabbit Island has a biiiig bathtub! That's 300-400l at least! They should add rocks as inventory items, and as items we can cook in the fire. Then we could add water and hot rocks to the bathtub and take a warm bath! elloco999
I like it, a nice hot bath after having been out exploring the whole day... Add a nice glass of good whiskey and a good book. Oh yeah, now we're living the life! That's what I call survival

Burning Bridges
I had warm bath idea from the first time I played. I just think it goes under "gimmick". Also pretty bad payoff in terms of resources right now, you need at least 50l of water for 2h of warmth and a potential for pneumonia.EDIT: It could however make sense if he had a "morale" stat, that a hot bath followed by sleep would give a huge boost.(You can't just pour kerosene into a desk drawer or a locker.)Yes you can!
