Feats as of right now are underused in my opinion, and I would like to see some new ones added to the game. What type of feat would you like added? Make sure to include both the requirement to earn it, the effects, and a name for it. Feel free to make more than one.

What I would like is a feat called "Hydro Endurance", it would require you to boil 500 liters of water, and it's effect would you require 10% less water.

Sprain Resistance... after treating (bandaging) 50 sprains, earn a 10% reduction in the odds to get a sprain.

Weight Lifting - after traveling 500 km overencumbered gain +5kg to your weight capacity.

I will always be a proponent of more feats.  Even if it's something stupid like "Fish Fanatic: Eat 100 cans of sardines, sardines provide double calories".  Same reason why I was thrilled beyond reason when Custom became an experience mode.  Anything that lets the player change up the variables gets a stamp of approval in my book.

I had previously requested a "Bear Wrestler" feat, where the feat allows you to struggle against a bear and possibly send it packing, instead of it being a "sit back and watch your s#!t get ruined" experience.  But the upcoming survival mode bear spear looks to be the answer to that, so I'm happy.

But in the spirit of brainstorming some possible feats...

Iron Man: Recover from 10,000 points of condition loss due to injury.  You now receive 10% less condition damage from physical injury.
Rubber Skeleton: Recover from 1000 sprains.  You are now 50% less likely to suffer a sprain from all sources.
Faithful Cartographer: Use 1000 charcoal.  Your mapping radius per charcoal use is now doubled.
Marathoner: Sprint 1000km.  Your sprint bar depletes 25% slower when sprinting.
Lightweight: After falling through the ice 100 times, you've learned how to spread out your weight.  You now have 8 seconds on weak ice before you fall through.
Scavenger: Search 5000 containers.  You now have a 5% greater chance of finding a rare item when searching containers (e-stim, expedition parka, etc.)
Iron Stomach: Suffer and recover from food poisoning 500 times.  You are 50% less likely to suffer food poisoning from all sources.

I tend not to use feats for my survival runs.  I have occasionally, but for the most part I don't want to have any advantages during my run.  So, more feats from my perspective doesn't really matter... while I like to earn the badges, I rarely, if ever use them.  I might warn against too many feats though, people already fuss about the game getting easier.  I think more feats adding more little advantages would potentially have the same effect.

What I think we need more of instead are new and interesting challenges.

I don't think it would work that way since the player would still have to choose which 2, 3, or 4 (depending on their difficulty level) they wish to use.  As long as they don't increase the number of feats you can use on any given playthrough, just having some different ones to pick from wouldn't make the game easier overall... and they wouldn't require much in the way of additional development time the way new challenges do (which I'm also in favor of, BTW).

I would add:

"Shooter".

After 1000 succesfull hits you become very skilled in firearm handling & care.

+15 % accuracy

+20 % firearms durability

-20 % firearm cleaning kit usage

 "Robber"

After 500 breaks your skill with prybar improved.

-10 % prybar decay after use

Fair enough... I only meant that care would need to be taken to make sure that the feats available don't be come too overpowered.  I just worry that too much player advantage might undermine the whole point of the game (that being the struggle for survival).

I mean, I suppose (just like now) we can always opt not to use them... so I see your point.

Wolfkiller : After 500 wolf attacks survived, you lost -15% of condition in wolf struggle.

And I love to see Hinterland rebuff Book Smarts because it actually gives a little little bonus compared to other feats likeFireMaster or Cold Fusion.

Shelter Specialist - learning from your mistakes and patiently developing your construction methods pays dividends. After staying x hours in snow shelters, snow shelters can be built with hides with a bonus to warmth / durability.

I'm keen for wild camps (not in caves) to become viable so.. it's a good point made by others here - its better to make the game more interesting with feats than just easier.

I think adding one Feat per each skill that starts it off at level 3 would be a good start. Like harvest X amount of animal carcasses, make X amount of successful bow/rifle/revolver hits, catch X amount of fish to start off with each skill at level 3. We've already got one for firestarting, why are the other skills left out?

Dance Floor Diva: You've had your chest tap-danced on by a Moose 50 times. You now start with 2 bandages and 2 Rose Hip Teas in your inventory. You're probably going to need them, considering your track record...

"Cat-like Reflexes":  You've survived x# falls from X+ meters and are now 25% less likely to suffer serious injury or die from a fall of X+ meters (inactive while over-encumbered).
