Ability To smoke meats

It would be good to craft a smoking frame that could be placed over a campfire and/or fire barrel? 
Maybe out of some sticks and cured gut.
To allow the ability to smoke meat/fish so they don't spoil nearly as quick. Could take a couple of hours for it to be ready but if the fire could still be used as for regular cooking at the same time, such as the two stones used for cooking normally and a rack with 4 slots sitting above the campfire.

Oh and I really hope for a improvised whetstone...

Smoking or drying meat and fish would be useful not for the duration (we're in an island-sized freezer, after all) but for the reduced smell. It's a recurring wish.

As for whetstones, the devs have replied that with all blades and whetstones you can find in the game you'll hardly ever survive long enough to run out of them. The red-and-blue-toolboxes-hacksaw-hammer combo can allow you to craft a truckload of knives and hatchets and repairing your tools for like forever.

The fun part is that a note in Milton or Mystery lake teaches you how to sharpen tools with river rocks and leather, to no avail.

Raphael had talked about in Milton Mailbag #23 that the team had discussed smokers and smoking meat and also said they might implement it this year. So I am hopeful for that :)

I agree Smoking Meat would be nice, but as for Whetstones what we have now is good enough for me. :P

Personally, I would like it if whetstones didn't wear out quit as quick as they do now.

I do like the idea of being able to smoke meat.
