XaldinVii
@Arch For bears best bet would be using a bow so the bear bleeds out faster. Get one solid shot from a place he can not reach like a downed tree of a cliff face you dropped onto. Then go do something for a few games hours and track down the carcass. The moose on the other hand doesn't take bleeding damage so a rifle is your better bet. They are afraid of fire, unlike the bear so use that to your advantage or find an unreachable place like with the bear. Also something to note no matter what difficulty a single attack from either the bear or the moose will not kill you ought right. Although the mooses broken ribs condition can be game ending. hozz1235
Biggest tip I could give is to do it from someplace "safe". Like a downed tree as other poster said. I will also find a rock that I can shoot from then when they charge me, I drop down so it resets their aggro.
solaris
Once I shot a bear with my rifle, but the bear goes angry and run up to me, so I turned around and run away home. As I hear the bear breathing an stomping through the snow behind me, I turned quickly around and shot at him a second time. He falls down as dead as he can, luckily not far away from the hunters hut, my base camp. My shootig skill was number 4, maybe thats why I didn't miss him.
