is there anything that happens depending on what you do like push the knife or pull the knife

Yes, metuzalas will do a little comment on your choice, I got to say that I firstly instantly push the knife to kill this bast**** but when I saw the way that mackenzie looked to his hand I told myself your gonna regret it. So I started a save from 5min ago to this time pull the knife but I still don't understand why we didn't have the knife in our inventory ?

I pulled the knife and create a save, after 3 days he was still alive - strong bad guy. I was disappointed too when I was checking my inventory and can't find it. What he did with knife? Hide, so Hobbs can't murder MacKenzie? Now Iam on the way to mystery lake, still without knife.

I was hoping this would translate into "bad karma" within the story and add some difficulty, though it can still happen in the forthcoming episodes. Other than Methuselah foggy musings, nothing happened. 

At first I felt like we might need Hobbs somehow in the future and keeping him alive would be a worthy strategic decision, but the more he talked the clearer the decision became. He had to be stopped.
