BareSkins Are Sleepwalking

In regard to your earlier comment - you may feel you are just writing this journal along, but I can assure you there are many lurkers enjoying every minute of it. Of all my micro-breaks at work, by far my favourite is reading the newest chapters of Deadman, Sleepwalker and friends. I don't have a ton of time for TLD these days, and my skill level was never loper-high, so these reads allow me to enjoy it. Plus sometimes reading these stories is more enjoyable than the actual struggle for me.

In addition to daily lurkers like me, I also believe you and the others writing these stories are preserving them for many future players to come. I very much enjoyed 1000 days in the dam, even though it was long finished and even obsolete when I read it.

My last torch brings me safely to the waterfall, no hyporisk despite 3 attempts at fire. After snapping 2 rabbits, dilemma: Am I stupid enough to go back to the farmstead with the smellies? The moonlight gives perfect visibility and no winds: I’ll try my luck. At worse I’ll drop them on my way and come back later. Of course there is already no meat on it anymore, I promptly sawed, cooked and eat it right away. "Very high" calorie intake of SW8/deadman is really something. I get very nice 42% torches before leaving under mushroom influence.

I follow the river bed, exchanging situational awareness for wind protection. This is not my usual style, it feels strange. But health is too precious, I’ll gladly exchange a rabbit to avoid the least bit of hyporisk. Back at the farmstead, I close the door and think this match has been nicely spent, and it makes me very glad.

I immediately harvest the 4 pelts and 2 guts before going to sleep a bit inside in dawn light. Hacksaw for the guts, barehands for the pelts. Since I already have a Tuke, have 4 rabbits pelts instead of 3 is nice: I still have no gloves. It’s been a productive night.

screen_e22b2328-70a4-4882-9d22-f794e489ff78.thumb.png.4c1f9c1760ce30b9f9be539161b1c762.png

I’ll sleep 6h until warm afternoon, the goal will be to… eat, obviously, like usual in sleepwalker mode. Surprise surprise, the weather is awful again. Pleasant Valley.

The winds die later, I head toward the Tower. My plan was Rural today, but the winds come from there and it’s a very loooong way. I find a dead rabbit near the waterfall, I must have dropped it before because of hearing footprints. I lose the well fed buff 9 minutes before finishing its cooking. This buff isn’t of any importance anyway, except for a reminder of “you’re beginning to lose your precious health”. My food is over, my fuel too.

screen_31d89723-1128-42df-993b-eb277d63887a.thumb.png.1ddfb51fbd79e0dbf2be6084b8a42f9e.png

Howling while walking climbing o the Tower with my smelly carcass. They wait for me. Arriving at the tower, I really hope for nice clothes, mainly boots and pants you usually find there. The carcass is not here (is there any carcass spot anyway or am I daydreaming?), I’m disappointed and very hungry. The loot is meh: driving gloves, the static coffee, wool socks, white sardines and tomatoes, yellow dog food, no bread in the toaster, sewing kit. No pants, no boots, no coat, crap! I shout all my anger to the walls.

screen_e293642d-0907-4fb3-90a5-c21374a23998.thumb.png.f88bcca7abc3b6b42832801ff9aeec0f.png

New dilemma: do I sleep starved or try the sardines? On the 20% dog food, it’s written “Better than starving. Probably”. Not sure about that. But I have lots of reishis, I’m already exhausted and next to a bed anyway.

The alternative is to push to the nearby cave where I could find a carcass, but I’m already so exhausted… and of course a blizzard kicks in as I wonder about my life choices. I eat all the food I have, strangely not get poisoned, so no reishi before sleeping. 1133 calories left. Glad I had a can opener.

My survival rule is CHOMP ALL THE WAY! :D So far almost all my survivors died due to cold and barkies, not sardines.

Also, according to the chart, the Loper freezing is very high and SW0 is simply High. This might be the difference.

hehe Those are all mmmeeeean charts though. Everything wicked is set on high and higher. :D

Wake up fully rested around 5AM, harvest the rabbit carcass for pelt. Too cold outside to do anything, FL-29. I repair the leather shoes to 66%, and the second loot check gives me a nice flare.

I’m starving, but patience is better than panicked death. I wait for noon, stomach empty. I pre-light my torch and, leave the place towards the hilltop cave guided by crows. Howling is a good indication that there’s no bear. On site, I even get a free rabbit. The weather holds, which is nice.

screen_a9124629-4fc4-42c0-86ec-33fda9358cfb.thumb.png.9ea62d0a044560046844867bd7a20ef0.png

Man, does it feel good

There’s still 2h fire time when it gets killed mid-afternoon, once I took the deer pelt. I’m out of fuel. The nearby cave gives crackers and a book. The 2 guts are lost, but it doesn’t matter, I wouldn’t have spent the calories for them anyway.

Nothing at the blind except tons of reishis, and another rabbit I snap and carry on my. I push a deer in front of me me walking back against the winds towards the farmstead, under warmup bonus. Using all the shielding and running I can, I make it to the farmstead without losing 1 pixel of health. But I definitely need a kill steal very soon. The new rabbit will only push me until next morning, at best. Stealing will not be for tonight anyway, the bear is here looking at me.

The Treasure

I spend the calories for the 2 last rabbits pelts that make it 7 (mitts+hat). And the 2 guts also, cause anyway I’m gonna starve soon so I prefer to start their curing right away and synchronize them with the third deer pelt (5days). I go to sleep with smelling gut near my bed cause I didn’t want to find the stairs in the dark. It might be the smell of my last victory before long.

Yes, that's totally it. The temperatures tho, are the same. It's just your warmth bar depleting faster. There's a slight difference.

Today, as every day, the mission is eating. I take advantage of the regular morning blizzard for a nice cold bonus to cook my last rabbit, and some drinks.

screen_23b56c1b-181d-4fb8-b5e0-ff3c23e8dc1f.thumb.png.bbf86cb78323c85f37b5ec6b3c8f09f6.png

3 hours later, my stomach is already red again. Let’s find some deer and wolf somewhere. Crap, the bear’s still hanging around: no wolves. But a deer shows its majesty behind the river to the barn. I grab stones and a fresh gut.

Item #2

The encounter is nicely organized despite a fall, but of course my 60% fire fails 6 F*µ£! TIMES. I pay the stealing with 8% hypothermia, and since it smells blizzard and I’m very low on fuel, and don’t proceed to the carcass yet. Let’s just hope the weather calms down in the afternoon. Now that I’m starved, I brake a chair and get my tempbar full again. I sleep 4h to heal a sprain and wait for the blizzard to end, at around 7PM I go get my well deserved loot.

screen_3eb643b4-f55a-420c-8543-684e617c7ed0.thumb.png.1e2a2f24a96f55bb288555cd36aa02d0.png

I patiently hacksaw all the meat, but don’t eat until I’m finished, even if I cook 2 steaks. Total 8.3kg raw meat. I also take the pelt, which I’ll be able to transport uncured. I finish the pelt near a killed fire, new blizzard (can you believe? two in a row?). 9th blizzard in 9days. Easy stat.

I find a bed in the dark thanks to the windows lights. I lost 18% health today. But I’m not dead. Yet.

3 cured guts, 4 rabbits pelts ready, enough food and water: the morning planning is simple. I needed gloves, so… good news. My actual driving ones give +0.2°C, that’s a net+3.8 bonus. The hat is +2.5° total, since the tuke gave +1 external protection already.

But before that, I use the cold morning, AT-28 to grab my steak at dawn and cook them all, after braking a crate for fuel. Grabbing the steaks brought 3 wolves, but they fly away before the bear. I don’t passtime cooking, for fear of being mauled. Of course even before the first steak is finished, snow: it’s gonna be awful soon. Again. Strangely, the fires holds nicely, only 1 steak left uncooked, I start the mitts at 11AM which is perfect timing.

The beautiful evening sees a nice steal. 9h sleep are well deserved once the wolf is distracted away. It’s so nice to have too many matches.

I made a wolf bark just behind the car.

After a spooky electric night, the day is spent crafting deer boots, around 5PM the winds die down, I process the carcass until nightfall when my fire gets killed. No hatchet, no knife: no quartering. I get the skin, even if I don’t have the guts to make the pants. I lose 1% health to Fatigue, but maybe I won’t be able to thaw this carcass again.

screen_11c7c266-35ca-441c-aff1-9728d554e0b9.thumb.png.1366b228cec6f16e26e02475e2dd2e0a.png

BareSkin35- D13 [ Sleepwalker level 8]

5% health recovered since day 10 massacre (68%). Spent the nice cold morning cheating the cooking mechanism, in exchange for for all my fuel. Lucky enough to be windshielded while another blizzard drops on me, I cook all the meat I managed to saw yesterday, then go finish the boots and start the hat.

Finish the hat, then lose some health to Fatigue in order to saw the remaining meat. I feel like the coffee is worth more than 1% health, thus I don't drink one. The last 2 guts will be cured tomorrow after nightfall, enabling me to move on. I drop the can opener, became useless.

I wake up with the well fed buff again, could be nice since I’ll travel soon. I finish my cooking in the morning, then read for 10h due to weather no listening to my wishes. One day lost to weather.

From dawn                                                                                                  to dusk

Last night in Spooky Farmstead

I wait a bit doing nothing in the morning (aka reading, then start a fire before noon). Only 2 steaks left: SW8 asks 1 full deer every 2 days. And I still have Efficient Machine... Make some water and tea, test the temperature, and leave for the Red Barn without warmup bonus. I travel with 2 steaks, again, not my style, I’m out of my comfort zone but the visibility is perfect, and a rabbit proposes itself to lead the way.

screen_6b8ac46d-d2d1-4867-ad30-2081bfb6a20f.thumb.png.993deb04b9b1828169e0a74745e5b64d.png

Warmup stop at the inside barrel, leave for Rural with tea, grab a ton of sticks, avoid 2 wolves, then drop a fire near a carcass after finding matches twice and a very nice coat at the gas station. 0.9kg meat is better than the 0 calories found in the station, but it barely pays for my travel, and I take the pelt, because one never has too many (total 4).

screen_bb1b21b1-532c-4e67-ba35-70c1c03dcf67.thumb.png.790c6ec6e3ad26c289035f31e14d0c44.png

Tomorrow, I’ll have to travel to that horrible place between rural and the exit, where you get ninja’d so often. I would normally from here transfer to the Dam/Trapper’s/Milton/Forge/retire, but I wanted to try something else. This is probably stupid without a bedroll.

BareSkin35- D16 [ Sleepwalker level 8]

In the morning I loot the house I slept in: 1.5L water and salty crackers, I then finish my 3rd sewing kit repairing clothes. Still overweighted, but I leave as is, in FL-3. I prefer dropping some goodies in CH trailer after the mine, just in case I live long enough to come back. Can’t leave the pelts, right?

This is the end of journal entry for this day, surely because under a lot of stress I forgot to alt-tab until safety (aka a bed)

I end up leaving tons of fuel at Log Sort, go back to the carcass to fully harvest it in positive FL (the fire is only antiwolf), then at dawn travel to Jackrabbit, with no smellies. The coat changes everything in terms of mobility. Or maybe this is CH that has higher temperatures?

I arrive on the island, drop the 4 snares I have from the Farmstead, snap 2 rabbits. I nearly lose the well fed buff, but find 30-ish peaches and dog food, both go without problem down in the stomach with 0% loss, very nice. While babysit-cooking in the evening, I get a third rabbit.

At midnight I’ve been fully exhausted for 2h already, and my fire is killed right on time, last meat piece cooked.

A 12h sleep gets me to noon, caught 1 rabbit I don’t process, find a firestriker (we'll talk about this cursed item later) near the dead body behind the island, and head to Misanthrope. I’d like to find a coastal house after it, else it’ll be a very long way until the next bed. The weather is so nice, I can see all houses burnt. I’ll have to sleep nearby, so I organize a wildlife encounter.

screen_de1cc5dc-2de0-4445-87ed-c9aed5335bfe.thumb.png.5d853802db84a1c123703c3e74e496e1.png

Even deers get ninja'd

I definitely hate the fire-starting interface: I struggle to get my torch lit with the matches, to end up lighting the stealing fire with the firestriker in the panic… it’s really horrible, in these kind of stress, with the wolf having eye-contact and growling on you, the last think you want is a non pre-programmable interface. Or at least something a little less dumb, like if you have a lit torch, use it as default. During the process, I realize if it fails I'll be naked without lit torch in front of a growling wolf. Or do we actually don't drop the torch in such instance? I didn't want to pay this knowledge with my life, so I'm ready to press escape if it fails, and it does. I press escape, reload and drop the %£¨§ Firestriker before doing exactly the same thing again. What a fun moment.

2 lines of code, really. <if> player has a lit torch <then> use it as default firestarter <else> whatever. <if> a wolf is nearby <then> don't ask, light torch with matches <else> whatever. This is really disgusting it’s not been done yet. With all the love I have for the devs, I can’t believe they play this game, for such a flaw to stay in game for months (forever? Veterans?). Until midnight, I saw the meat. I make my stomach full and leave the raw meat on the ice for when I’ll be back here.

Yeah, I also can't understand why a burning torch is not the default option.
There's a lot of problems with the interfaces. My guess is that they don't test so much on PC. I'm waiting for the next update to make a new thread about it.

Nice picture :) You shouldn't get ninja'd on ice though. Stupid deer.

As far as my experience goes, the growling wolf defending his kill will not attack you as long as you don't get too close. You can come with no torch, drop your torch, start a fire, aim a weapon at his face, whatever. So there should be no reason to be nervous in that situation.

Having said that, the firestarting interface is frustrating. My new favorite misclick, since it was last updated, is to take torch when I want to add fuel.

BareSkin35- D19 [ Sleepwalker level 8]

Storm in the morning, I switch read/sleep for 5h. I will need my full fatigue bar for the travel to come. Th winds die exactly at the best hour, I take it as a gift from TLD gods. FL+4, can you believe it? 4 snares empty, Misanthrope is not a place.

screen_2e6de93f-379b-4ffc-9db0-8692dbd9d43b.thumb.png.b3244e8ca0f913e382c037367b2bd631.png

I travel deer-driving along the shore, but no animal gets killed. Which I prefer, I won’t have to choose between stomach and brain. Near the car I make a detour for 4 birch and 2 maple.

In OIC, since I’m still positive FL I take the long road through the Arch with high hopes for a bedroll, and to keep the short way loot for the traveling back. I spent a match and process the carcass there, I’ll try to bring the fire until next bed. No bedroll of course. I have to light a defensive fire to escapre the place. Bloody firestriker, I DO hate you. I then take a lot of time climbing to the mine entrance, crouched. Night has fallen on me already, but I had to fill my stomach on that carcass. I find my prybar on a corpse, on day19…

screen_163dcaf0-7229-43db-9a67-ec5141d404a4.thumb.png.cc4a70a2bb8ff1d20edfb6bdc3013a89.png

This guy has been trained to block this road. Maybe a french professional striker?

Weather behind the door doesn’t look good… my torch get blow out as soon as I escape the mine. Doesn’t look good. If it was a real blizzard, I could run to the lighthouse, but I’m not sure it is, and I would just run into an army of wolves. It must be, since the temperature dropped 10 degrees, but it’s too cold for me to run there: I head to the mine tunnel after having dropped the saplings and coal inside.

Once in the tunnel, I decide it’s a good time to spend my only chemical flare, since I’ll have to transfer to Hibernia in the winds after the navigation. I run into the first trailer to avoid hypothermia, but soon realize it has no bed. The end of the flares sees my entrance into Hibernia. Safe, at last. In a pried locker, a yellow Mackinaw that will replace my crappy down vest tomorrow morning.

The blizzard ends 10 minutes after I enter. Not sure if I’m happy or not about it, is it mocking me? After finding nothing in Astrid’s Cache except a second prybar, I have to go to bed. Lost only 1% today, which is a miracle.

I finish looting the place (the sodas are still fake) before repairing the Mackinaw. The safe (4-6-2!) gives a nice other Mackinaw and CAD20, not sure the half-degree justifies the half-kilo compared to the light shell (which also asks for 1 less cloth to repair). I’m also reimbursed for my flare near the safe.

screen_60d7e58f-d798-48fe-aecf-2c0dec6698e6.thumb.png.7bacde8da8d91fd5660eb7ebe91727e1.png

After eating a nice granola and soda, I pack all my thing and leave this place forever. I’ve decided to tear down the second mackinaw for cloth, the light shell is better for my situation. Same for the second hacksaw and prybar, they’ll be turned into arrowheads.

The trailer complex gives a whetstone (appreciate that) and matches. Bear sounds as soon as I escape the complex, I crouch in positive FL of the afternoon, I can take my time to get to the Riken, no hurry. Little Island gives 2 rabbits, 2 maples, and sardines on the corpse.

I light up the forge, extract very nice 49% torches and loot the boat while rabbit cooks. Sewing kit, frozen angler, 2 food cans, a... third prybar in 2 days? Eat the rabbit, finish this nice meal with a coffee, and down to business: the knife.

Ready for the turning point of any sleepwalking run?

Oh man… I don’t have a hammer! I can’t believe I didn’t notice I didn’t find one! What a noob mistake!

Can’t believe I’ve seen half the world without grabbing one at random. This is the problem when you plan a non-ML run. Once the shock of über-noobism is passed (10 minutes, a real-life coffee, taking care of cat’s food), now what? I am in the Riken with a 8h fire, at dawn, half exhausted but under coffee. Let’s pretend I came all the way to DP for the mackinaw, non-bedrolll and saplings?

Since I won’t find a hammer neither in this map nor in OIC, I’ll have to go back whatever happens, so it’s better to sleep at the lighthouse now that the winds have died, and I would take advantage of the coffee. I drop most of the coal, all metal, all cloth I have, grab more perfect torches, and go.

The road was dark and full of terror

Once at the light house via the regular sneaky way, I proceed to make water and loot before extinguishing my torch. Find a stim (second one), peaches. I open all the crappy canned food, warm up a reishi near a flickering computer saying cryptic things about the past. 11% chocolate bar, 32% sardines, 35% chocolate bar, 37% dog food go well, 16% hot porkandbeans gave me poisoning, didn’t eat 18% tomato cause I was full.

Time to go to bed in a very nice jazzy broadcast from the radio.

Since I won’t find a hammer in this map

I once spent 3 weeks in DP gathering enough coal, fuel and food for the Riken to ensure I would have all materials necessary to make tools for months, Only to realize the same thing you did! "Wait. WTF! Where is my hammer? (Facepalm)

Is it possible for the hammer NOT to spawn in DP? I have found them in various spots, in the Riken and like 2 or 3 different places in Hibernia..Iirc even found one under the bench upstairs by the lockers at the light house..Twill be a disheartening day indeed if that happens to be, considering I thought I to be a guaranteed spawn(at least somewhere)on the map. I hope I didn't jinx me luck.... Well, getting a mackinaw IS a good reason to visit DP🙄😜

I suspect that not only thin wool sweaters but also mackinaws now appear more frequently.

I actually never found one in DP, so I thought this was a rule... Anyway, this time again I didn't find one, only place I didn't check was Scruffy's.

That, or an ophthalmologists' conspiracy using Plaid Shirts. That said, I used to find Golden Simple Parkas before, much more than recently.

Just a pic I forgot to publish yesterday. That was before I realized I was a stupid post-graduate.

I grab my saplings and go for Katie’s around 11, FL-7. As soon as I goat down the lighthouse and can’t U-turn, temperatures drop 10 degrees, winds pick up, I have to adapt quickly: I take shielding behind rocks and drop a protected fire at the static carcass on the wannabee-lake.

screen_78d10ec1-39a6-4959-813c-803d9c630b7f.thumb.png.4306f7f2e37b32b080a023e10e68d5dc.png

Smells like deer spirit: bad.

The winds reduce the fire, but since it’s usually just before they die down, I baby sit it a bit and make water. Mid-afternoon sees my last stick, and I have to find Misanthrope bed before tonight. That's a very long way. My babysitting strategy didn’t work, and I have to leave in the storm after drinking a coffee. No fire allowed, but there should be no wolves in this official blizzard, right? I progress 50m (sorry post-Saxons fellows, 75 yards?) towards the mine before coming face-to-face with a barking wolf.

screen_edeccbf0-9261-44d2-b3af-b8dfcc347e82.thumb.png.1304bd379bc4dd6cc4f73b9b91a302a8.png

I immediately backpedal, jump from the rocks and head towards Katie’s, abandoning rocks wind protection. This is not a blizzard, that’s even nastier: a snowstorm. Can’t see a damn thing, got the -10° penalty, strong winds blowing torches, plus the wolves for free.

I find a shielded place, and for once use the fire-striker on purpose! My situation is really not good, the first bed is far. Really far. Except if I abandon traveling today. I spend the only coal I took with me. The winds die soon later, I go saw the meat, cook both steaks, eat one and goat down with the other in order to drop it at mine entrance for when I come back.

I deploy the rope before entering the mine, grab precious loot that was curing inside, and before exiting start a new fire for another coffee. My coffee addiction became exceptional lately.

Just before I arrive at Harri's, I get a Ducking heart attack (like, for real, I miss a beat and jump on my chair, my cat flies away like there's no tomorrow), a wolf is hidden behind a tree in front of the basement entrance. I planned not to enter the place (I need to be quick, it’’ll be dark soon, there’s no bed, and I already have wool socks). My lit torch saved my life I think, the wolf doesn’t immediately jumps on me as I backpedal in circle and run to the basement. I’m alive but too afraid to leave it now. Plus, the basement is void except 2 reclaimed and 1L useless jerrycan. I’ve spent enough time as Cinderella here to know it’s not a usual patrol route: I check a theory and I’m right: decoy dropped. I forgot to let Katie's steak down in the mine. Noobism era is not over. I sneak out of there crouched and without smelling, it works much better.

I sprint against a wolf to Misanthrope, and win. Safety feels so good! I finish transferring to Jackrabbit since the visibility is nice, snap a rabbit I leave dead on the ice, miss another one. I can see the meat I left here before leaving CH, after the last steal. It’s good to know calories are nearby. I drop the snares before sleeping in what I now call my bed.

2 rabbits snared, 1 more snapped on my way to retrieve the one I dropped yesterday, plus the leftovers of the last steal make my calorie day, and helps me keep hope while I lose the best hours to poor weather. Time for repairs and reading.

Thank you, myself

BareSkin35- D23 [ Sleepwalker level 8]

First ruined snare. I use the coldest hours to cook all the raw meat from yesterday. The mission today is to retrieve stuff I left in the trailer upon arrival, then start deer pants if possible. 4 guts are at 95%. Everything goes fine, fire is killed after 10am when I’m finished. Strong winds force me to wait, reading in my bed for hours before I can head outside.

The good sides of Coastal Highway

Last fishut near the bridge Ravine-side gives nothing, I arrive at Fishing Camp and find… guess what… the hammer of course. It was literally meters away before leaving for the Riken. In the cabins, I welcome crackers, granola, dog food, I think I found a surprising cartridge, but it’s the sun playing with me. The next fishut noticeable produces Herbal tea, the perfect warmup drink for a sleepwalker.

At Log Sort a treasure awaits for me: 2 cured guts, 5 cured deer hide, tons of coal and sticks. I take coals as I already found lots of sticks, and I’ll be back anyway. The winds push me back to Jackrabbit and put an end to this sweep, tomorrow is about crafting deer pants + 2 snares. I eat crappy civilized food before sleeping, I don’t even need antiobiotics despite eating 11%, 14% and 16%.

BareSkin35- D24 [ Sleepwalker level 8]

The cold morning sees my transfer to Fishing Camp, I barely escape hyporisk. Short warmup inside a cabin, then to the bench for deer pants. 2 snares and 30 minutes pants later, fire is killed. I proceed to strategically retreat in a cabin for a nap. 3h later, I can go back to work and have to stop 2h later. This workbench is definitely not very nice matches-wise.

BareSkin35- D25 [ Sleepwalker level 8]

I finish the pants at dawn, and on my way back home I have to run to avoid hyporisk, which I don’t (-1%). I’m too exhausted to travel to the Forge today. Afternoon will be for dragging fuel back from Log Sort. Since the Jacket is at the Gas Station, I also saw a whopping 0.4kg steak from the carcass before heading back home in positive FL thanks to the pants.

The Jacket: Coastal Highway to Hell Tour (unplugged)

Upon arrival, 1 more ruined snare (only 2 left), not a good news since the next guts are in 2 days. Eat crappy food and antiobiotics before going to sleep. I align 8 rabbit carcasses one the bench in JackRabbit entrance , and with my new friends, we take advantage of the aurora to watch GoT S8E3. What a laugh we’ve had. Nothing is better than a good TV-evening in curing guts smells.

I wake up to cook the raw meat chunks in the end of the aurora, find 2 more rabbits. Once everything cooked, I leave the place after a nap with a full stomach, to the Forge. Again. I triple check I have the hammer, even if of course I didn’t drop it since found. I sleep with it. It’s FL-2 when I leave before 15pm, so the travel is easy temperature-wise.

Before arriving at Harri’s, since I’m in positive FL I saw the 2.0kg carcass and drop the steaks in the Basement, maybe for the return trip. The cooked one I left here, the one that nearly cost me my life, I forgot to drop it outside (out of shock from the wolf presence?), it’s now at 3% so, no thanks. The howlings are far, I also take the 1.5kg from the cave carcass, and run to the mine.

Since I’ll have to spend a match anyway, I cookeat these one in the mine. Loot at the church: shooting book and nothing else. I then hesitate to snap a rabbit: I’d have to exchange it for my life on my way to the riken anyway, and because of the waterfall noise I feel vulnerable. But there is another one on the road and no wolf to be seen: it’s a sign. I arrive at the Riken just before dark, but head outside again for Little rabbits. I don’t find any but make a stone stock in case I’m hungry and need to drive a deer.

BareSkin35- D27 [ Sleepwalker level 8]

Fully rested, I get to the forge: everything is still here: tons of metal, coal, cloth. Now, back to business after this short advertisement cut. Cook the rabbit and heat coffee while waiting for the forge to end its preliminary phase. 2 arrowheads (for boiling timing reasons), knife, first coffee, more arrowheads, second coffee, then head outside in the mid afternoon, smelling rabbit gut, for some deer driving.

Who said déjà-vu?

Since I have a knife, I come back after dark with a quartered deer, from Lighthouse lake against the winds, it’s really painful. I eat my last 3 cattails in order to keep the well fed buff. Cook 1 steak, craft 1h. Fuel dies at 18 arrowheads, more than enough. 7 metals scraps left I’ll bring back 2 to repair Catherine. As usual, I didn’t craft a hatchet. I drop the heavy hammer.

Only hatchet or knife, got it. Then, why would the hacksaw show up in the interface? Btw, nice camouflage as a rock.
