Hidden Caves

A cavelette, within a "cave", or sorts...

I used to use this one for emergency shelter, or CF avoidance, but it is not a warm little cave. The older campfire model could be fit in, if you were careful with placement, great wind-sheltering here. But not enough room for a bedroll and fire at once, I don't think. Maybe not even a fire now, with the large footprint it has. I'll have to check that on the way back past this area in my current run.

Campfire can be placed and does seem windproof.    Bedroll can also be placed. 

Takes some goating to access.  Has a great view.

Going through some old screen shots and discovered these pictures of hidden caves that I found but sadly did not note the location.

There are two hidden caves found that do have location data.

The first is called Zig-Zag Nook

This seems wind proof for a fire and there are some scrub brushes nearby.

The bedroll can also be placed.

 

This nook is located in high ground above the bear cave near the poachers camp.  Some goating is required

 

The second one is called Moon Shadow Cave

 

This area offers a camp fire and bedroll.  The sound of the falls will soothe you to sleep in this non hostile zone.

 

This is located at the entrance to the Ravine coming from Mystery Lake.  Some goating is required

Here is another excellent hidden cave.  This was just recently found so its name is:

Timberwolf Den

 

Very roomy cave for fire and sleeping roll.

Also the snow shelter can be built. 

This area might not be wind proof as I have seen the snow falling whilst inside.

This hidden cave has room for a fire and sleeping bag.

Hush Cave

Not sure if this location should be revealed.  It's a secret.

Nice! I'm guessing the name you gave it is a hint as to which region you can find it?

I'm always interested in where caves are... because cave living is Just Better.
