Scare the wolves

Flares don't always work, they don't always run away from you, you don't always have ammo. Do you have troubles with wolves ?, How about a make yourself big and scary button, maybe have a better chance of scaring off those pesky walking flea carpets before they lunch on you.

The only thing I can think of is flashbangs. and they operate in a similar style to flares. The wolves in game aren't really afraid of humans

One thing that bothers me is that they go around by themselves. In reality, wolves are pack animals and stalk prey in teams, not by themselves, especially in cold regions. They would also have a lighter coat for winter.

i just got done scaring a wolf away, i'm pretty sure all you need to do is throw the flare at the thing.

Doesn't always deter them. I drop raw meat and run away these days to save on flares

What I meant was, you could have a button that makes you jump up and down making aggressive sounds, that has a little better chance of scaring the wolf off.

nah, game doesn't need it. There are enough scare mechanics in game as it stands. As I have said previously in another post, once all I had to do is pull out a rifle and sight down the barrel at a wolf and it scarpered.

I really don't think there's a game mechanic that scares wolves off when you point your rifle at them. It was probably a coincidence. I had a wolf track me for a good while and all of a sudden, while I was moving away from him, he just ran off. Still don't know what scared him, but I doubt it was anything I did...

There's only two ways of deterring wolves as far as I know: throw a lit flare at them or build a fire. But I have good hope that using a burning torch will also become a possibility.
