Agree if you can see a wolf they should be able to smell you within 2-5 minutes. Then they should start hunting you by smell. Wolf hunting should be sight and smell based, there should be a chance they don't hunt you though or that they don't pursue you if they've just killed and eaten. In fact Wolves should have more than once state. Right now we just see them meander pretty aimlessly in a line until they go into pursuit mode and then track and then when close enough attack.

That isnt fully true sometimes they watch and sometimes they appear to be deciding if they are going to attack. Those charms are appreciated and add to realisim.

Wolves sight is as good as a humans but they rely on it way less, they use smell because smell from afar in nature can work far better than sight. Remember it is 1000-2000 times as powerful as a human. Where you will smell stuff from a few feet away a Wolf can smell that from a mile.
