Is Will possessed?

So, during this session, while playing on survival mode, I witnessed something strange. Without changing any setting in the game and my laptop's settings, out of nowhere Will's voice began to sound creepy. It had a deep, distorted voice, like in the horror movies. It was interesting that this affected only his voice and not the other in-game sounds. This happened to others or I am the only one?

I was informed on the Steam forums that it is a bug. And I don't drink.

Hate to break this to you..I shouldn't even be telling you this..but Will is sadly possessed. He is periodically overcome by emotions and control not his own, forcing him to do things he would likely never attempt or accomplish. He calls this demon the.............Player!

Just imagine if HL recorded a whole new set of voice acting to reflect this: "Are you seriously going to make me eat that?"  "Why do you want me to go there?  There are wolves over there!" "I want to see YOU head out in a raging blizzard wearing a ragged hoodie..."
