Candles

Apologies if this has been suggested before, but i'd love to see candles added to the game.

They could be a rare or common item - either way i think they could enhance the atmosphere of the game, without affecting game play too much. They'd have a minimal warmth bonus, you could cook off them but it'd take hours to heat up food or cook a steak. They would be handy for reading into the night or crafting clothing.

For balance purposes i'd suggest a full fresh candle could only burn for a maximum of 2 hours.

If seasons are added you could craft candles from beeswax in the Spring / Summer for use in Winter!

It has been suggested before, but it's definitely worth suggesting again.  Candles would be great.

Agreed.  Light only, tiny heat, burn fast.

I think if all it does is give off light then the burn time should be reasonable (like my suggested 2 hours) otherwise there isn’t really any point. You can craft a torch and be done with it.

I will add that lighting a torch and then dropping on the floor of a cabin for light never sits well with me.  I know it has no effect in the game, but...

Hence my support for candles.

Ooh... I hadn't thought of that.  That's not really a common thing these days, though.
